Love the sound of your garden Daff, ours is looking quite good at the moment, if a tad overgrown as the geraniums (cranesbill) have gone ahead at the usual gallop. In fact yesterday I was pulling some of the more aggressive ones out. Most of the pots and baskets are planted up now and nearly all the bedding plants thatw ere languishing in the greenhouse when we got back are in. (Mind you, as i don't plant them I could only say where they should go and by the time they were planted some of them were in the wrong place. Still can't complain T has worked so hard out there. Now he has a blind to put over the lounge window, he has put the brackets on the wall but I can't help him lift so we have to find a body to hold the other end while he gets the first end into the bracket. (Does that make sense?) That is when i wish our families lived nearer. Anyway, he has gone to golf this morning, that way I know he wont be trying to do it while I am in town!!!

Morning Daffers and all:
Sun just starting to peek through here - ruddy cold in the evenings of late though (and overcast) but no rain.
Garden sounds like it's coming on a treat Daff - and in a month or two's time it wont look nearly as "new". I love the jungely, overgrown type gardens - not for me the neat edges, clipped shrubs etc. I think I must have been "Jayne" in a former life - not that my OH looks like Tarzan but he does look pretty nifty in a leopard-skin loin-cloth - but that's another story))))
OH is off to North Yorks tonight - he and a load of others are doing the Lyke Wake Walk - 40 miles in 24 hours - mad fools! I was going to do it, but.......errr............I have the remains of a chest infection))))) It's for Breast Cancer Care and hopefully loads of money will be raised.
Forgot to say - chooks now renamed - Fran the Moran, Claudia, Violet and Mavis!! each one lays an egg a day and the first one I cracked was a double-yoker!!! (or twins, as my son said - pmsl). Violet is a little "tart" and will jump on anyones lap and loves being petted - bit like a cat really. I'm getting quite attached to 'em!
I've arranged for the weather tomorrow to be good (not too hot) the wine to be chilled (but not too much) and the steaks to be grilled to perfection. What more can I do?
You all have a wonderful time - I shall be thinking of you and raising a glass or two!
Bi for now

Morning all.... weather here is a little overcast, but with the sun trying to elbow it's way through... do hope it's had it's weetabix this morning, and is tough enough to win the tustle, lol... that would solve my dilemma.... swearing or in the garden, lolol
I have to nip across to Asda to get some squash... we have run out... I have never run out before, in fact these days tend to chuck it cos it has been languishing in a cupboard for yonks, doing nothing!! But... still my favourite drink since chemo, and HL and sidekick love it too... they got through a full bottle on that very hot day!
Jac... all Violets are cute and cuddly... my gran was a Violet... and guess what one of my names is!! Bless them... they don't ask much out of life, do they? And what about this leopardskin loincloth then? I sense a story, lol.... Good luck to him, and I do hope he doesn't have too many blisters.... do you know that the Military used to widdle on their feet to toughen them up?? They might still do, I'm not sure!
I love the gardens that are stuffed full of plants..... all flopping onto the pathways and scrambling up the walls and fences, and I have no plan... a sort of rudimentary *that grows to 30ft, that grows to 6ins, so one at the back and one at the front* sort of thing... but just plonk in plants as I grab them really.... yesterday I was in a *tall and spikey* mood, as I didn't realise that all the plants I had chosen are, well, tall and spikey. My garden will take a while to be *engulfed* but little pockets of it have made a good start, and should be like that in a couple of weeks.
That's why the pathways and borders needed a little bit of structure!
Taff, I understand perfectly... I cried my eyes out last year when my beloved Ariadne was towed away for scrap! She was a 14 year old Carina, and was the very first car I bought with my own money, and who was all mine, not a shared *family* car, and I loved to drive her... my little Polo is snazzy, but still doesn't feel quite *me*! *sigh* I still miss her!
Ann, if you want, R would pop in after work and be T's helping hand? It is more or less on his route home. They can chat about it tomorrow, anyway.
My word, tomorrow.... I am getting all excited now... I must go and see what to wear....!!
Hiya Liz... glad your pc is playing again... I hate it when mine is down, it feels like someone has chopped my arm off. It is such a shame that you can't make tomorrow.... it would have been lovely to see you again, but never mind, one day!!
~~~~~~ to Maz ~~~~~~
Jude, I'm not sure where it is... I'll ask him, he'll be here soon... he has gone to collect the last of the slabs for the patio (all the others have been re-cycled from my original patio'ed areas) and the gate *bits*. And yep, I am happy and fizzing!! Life feels pretty wonderful just now, lol!! Amazing what a bit of sunshine and two hunky fellas will do for equilibrium, lolol!!
Love to all,
Daff xxxxx
(not letting them know that though! lol)
Taff....sorry to hear about the car....where is he taking it......and what time do i need to stay off the roads?!
Hi Daff and All.........it's raining here on the NE coast, but I always try to look on the bright side of life soo........won't have to water the garden & baskets tonight :O)...though OH isn't best pleased as he's been repairing and staining garden furniture the last 3 days. We've put up the umbrella cause it needs a good wash.....neighbours will think we're mad lol
Your garden sounds wonderful Daff,it'll be a perfect haven,you certainly are a busy girl and won't let the grass grow {see what I did there? ;O) }
Love the eloquent description of BC's pony's poops;O) When I was very young we lived by riding stables, and when Dad came in from work, he used to ask us if we wanted to earn extra pocket money we could go and fill his wheelbarrow........he was a keen gardener and could grow anything.....especially with help of horses' doodahs! :O))
Have a smashing weekend,looking forward to hearing all about it,bet you'll look radiant!
It is OK Daff, Phil next door helped T get the blind up but thanks for offering R. Now it is up but apparently not straight so he is looking at it and scratching his head!!!! I don't like to tell him that it is making the lounge very dark because there is no sun! Don't think I would be very popular.
Afternoon Daff and wishing you all have a wonderful time tomorrow...wish I was going..but maybe next time:-) Raining on and off all day here, bleddy miserable in fact. But, as Mau says, great for the garden!
I thought of you this morning Daff, when I saw a lovely fresh pile of horses heffluent left behind by the horses riding in Rotten Row. My Dad used to ask us to collect it as well, Mau, for his allotment, but I would refuse and let the boys do it! I was mighty tempted to gather some this morning, though!
Funnily enough, Ann, I have a window blind to put up as well. I keep measuring and it is an old wall and doesn't go straight...sooooooo I think I shall ask my neighbour to do it!
Bye for now. mwahhh BCXXX
wmsl Ann.... I can just imagine the picture!!!! I also have blinds to put up.... in two of the bedrooms, the bathroom and the kitchen. I have had the bathroom one for two years, the others for about 10 months... they need to be cut a little, and I bought a little tool to do that... be blowed if I can find it!! *sigh* we'll get around to it one day!!
BC... how lovely, living near Rotten Row... at least the horses would have been posh... we had to chase the pig swill man to catch the Heffluence from his cart horse for Mr S next door's roses (we never had anything as grand as a garden... dad half dug a cabbage patch, all the cabbages disappeared, and then I started having baby siblings at boringly regular intervals, lol No surprise to me that babies came from cabbage patces... I knew only too well!!)
Where was I? Oh yes, collecting dooh dah... we had to chase the pig swill man... he came around on a Sunday afternoon and all our left over dinner slops was poured into these massive drums... the stench was horrendous in the summer. In fact, the dooh dah smelt like roses in comparison. :¬S
Jude.... we just had a dribble here... still need to water the lawn. See you tomorrow!!
Maz, it has gone really cold here too, so I have put the heating on for a few minutes, lol A real wimp, I am!!
Mau... wmsl at your grass growing line, lol I have too, put an umbrella up to give it a good wash, lol... it spent the winter laid across the table on the decking... I nicked the stand for a washing line... those stands just hold a medium sized rotary line..... and then got diagnosed so it never got put away in the shed... as it is cream canvas, it now has some decorative green mouldy bits on it... think I might have to bin it, though.
~~~~~~ to Jean.... love to you both!! I hope it knows when to stop, as well... that's the problem... all or nothing with our weather, isn't it?
Mamiddau... it won't take you long to learn the basics... and you'll be surprised at how much you remember that you didn't realise you knew already!!
We are sooooo going to have a wonderful time tomorrow.... catching up with those I have already met... and meeting new folk as well, I love that.
HL and sidekick have been unable to come back today... not sure what the problem is, but they will be here Monday or Tuesday. Sigh....... never mind, it'll be worth the wait.
Love
Daff xxxxxx

In case anyone is confused the blind is an outside one that comes out on arms to provide shade over the patio. It is straight now and looks good but we had to roll it up because it rained Lol!!!!

Never mind, will be back in/around Llanelli one of these days and will arrange the meet after I have booked the accommodation lol
Glad you all seemed to have a good time despite the poor weather, hope I see some photos of the glamorous Daff and pals, including you Taff!

We had a brilliant time!! I slept all the way home... too much red wine, even though I shared it with Ann in Glos and her hubby (they didn't realise I was topping up their glasses, lol)
It was lovely to see everyone I have already met, and to meet new faces as well...... I had a wonderful time... and so did R... he was his usual quiet self... really , he is very quiet! Total opposites, we are..........
Best I go and make a cuppa.... and maybe take a headache pill, lol... had quite a lot too much red wine!!

Morning Oh Hungover One! lol I tried to post here THREE times last night, just after Mau, but was kicked off. Am so pleased to hear the Meet was a great success in spite of the weather. I heard that Daffy looked stunning and SueM's crutch was a thing of beauty!
Am just moping up my bedroom carpet as the dog peed all over it last night, must have been a lot of thunder but I never heard a thing! Hayley has suggested it might have been *coughs...me, but I sniffed and figured it out.
Catch you later.
