Good morning everyone!! What a beautiful day!!

R is home, we have a trillion plants to plant, the turf is being laid today, and so is the new patio..... they lost a couple of days last week because of the weather and a family bereavement, but have made those up, and they are hoping to finish tomorrow.

I am buzzing, and so is R..... he is off today, as I was supposed to go to the Royal Gwent for a gynae appt.... one more side effect of the chemo during my last long stay in hospital!! I really didn't fancy it... so phoned in about 3am and left a message saying I wasn't coming out to play today.... slept like a log after that.

Jean, I am so pleased re J... is he home yet? Give him a hug from me..... gentle one mind, he is still a bit fragile!

Maz, well done! That is brilliant! Good luck with second level!

BC you really would suit one of those old fashioned gypsy caravans.... but who would you get to hold the reins on your cute little pony? Oh, and bagsy the pony dooh dah.... wonderful for my roses, lol ;¬))

Thank you everyone for your lovely messages and support.... Susan, nope, am not quite normal, wmsl!!

Ann, my aquilegias are dark purple and a sort of blackberry and cream colour.... I had lots more last year, but they haven't re-seeded, probably cos the topsoil engulfed them... I am going to take some seeds when they are ripe, and grow them on ready for next year. You are more than welcome to some... I know how much T likes them... they are quite tall.

Thank you everyone... the lads have arrived... A's BiL has gone back to school... he is really a music teacher... but we now have a lovely Spanish fella and his dog... a little Jack Russell who would dearly love to catch a cat!! But he is very biddable, has been told not to go indoors.... and doesn't.. just sits by the cat flap all day!

Well... off to sort out the squash, they have been getting through loads in this hot weather.

Love and ((((((((hugs))))))

Daff, the jack russel sounds really funny, sitting by the cat flap! I have a mental picture of it sitting there in disguise!( my mind boggles).

Naughty girl cancelling your appointment, but I appreciate you must be fed up with being poked around!!!!

Exciting getting to the finishing off bits of the garden isn't it?

Afternoon Daff and all:-) Sorry I forgot to check in this morning, was busy shining my brasses on the caravan:-)) I have an identity crisis here...on the one hand I am seen as a travelling lady and on the olther hand...the woman who runs my local charity shop handed me a lovely 'diamond' tiara today...she said it had my name on it!! lol

Hope you have enjoyed the day, Daff, and pretty soon your lovely garden will be finished. I am really looking forward to seeing photos of it. Best wishes to Jean's OH and well done to Maz:-)

MrDaff Report 3 Jun 2009 09:46

Morning all, sorry, I didn't sign in last night before I went to bed... we were still in the garden at 9.30, watering in all the plants we have added... there are about 20 more trays of stuff, lol, and the musclies have all gone and left me for the day, lol so I shall have a solid days' work ahead of me. I have 2 more hanging baskets to make up, and a couple of tubs... I did two baskets and a lovely wrought iron container yesterday.

But two of the borders now have lots of the good stuff turned into it (I have heavy clay soil, so it goes rock solid in this heat, and like a quagmire in the rain) and are totally stocked up with a mix of perennials and annuals, the latter to give the baby perennials time to grow and still have colour in the meantime.

A third border has been totally stocked with perennials, and had the good stuff, plus bark as a mulch... I am halfway through the two raised beds, so will finish them today... that just leaves the long border, which doesn't look too bad, and then the new borders at the side and the front. They aren't finished yet, nor is the veggie patch... and the turf didn't arrive yesterday, sigh!!

Jethro thinks the circle is his playground.... the other three, and all the neighbouring felines, think it is a perfect cat loo!!

The HL have been called away to another, emergency, job, so although they will come back and lay the turf as soon as it arrives, they may not be back here properly until the weekend... and it has to be looking good, this place, as it is where he is having his wedding and reception a week Friday!! Hence all the plants I bought for the front are now going into the back, lolol!! I'll just have to go and get some more, lolol;¬))))

I am now off to play again....... I'll try and put some photos somewhere where those who are interested can have a look at what it looks like now... but as I am not too sure how to do that, it might take some time!!

Take care everyone....

Love

Daff xxxxx
