Ann & Jude.... I've got all my words muddled.... it is the HL's wedding a week tomorrow.... and he had to leave my garden to go and finish off emergency stuff to the hotel/restaurant he does regular work for... and it is this place which is the venue for his wedding, lol... Jude it is up your way, in Monmouth.
They are laying the turf and the gravel this morning then off to finish the hotel stuff.... tomorrow is the patio area and the gate, dig in the borders, and hey presto... we're done!!
R has told me not to do any more digging today... he suggested I go to the garden centre, have a mooch around and maybe have lunch with my sister, but I am not to do any digging.... don't you just love it when they come out in a rash of masterfulness?? lol He did point out that he also meant no *swearing* either!! Bless him, that man is lovely!!!!
BC.... I didn't see the moon :¬)) I went to bed when it was still light and didn't wake (apart from 2 essential trips, you-know-where) until just before 8 this morning.... I love the moon... I'm a June baby.
Well.... I must go and phone my sister... she is on GP-visit duty with my mum... mum was supposed to be having her cataracts done and had the pre-op assessment a couple of days after she was diagnosed with dementia.... and because her bp was up the cataract lady told her they couldn't touch her eyes until it was down...
It is now down, and having a final check today.... but she can't read or sew or see the tv (which she can't hear properly anyway, lol) at the moment so is stir crazy. I do hope they get it sorted soon... my dad is not particularly sympathetic, as he is concentrating on his own bad knees and feet, lol.... I might end up an orphan at this rate, cos they are bickering like 5 year olds!! We are taking bets on who throttles who!! Tiny though she is..... my mother is odds on favourite (I have no idea what that means, but it does sound good, lol) to throttle my dad first!!
Ta-ra for now... see you all later.
Love

Morning Daffers! I do hope you are not overdoing things love? sounds to me like you are - norty, norty, norty!!!
It does however sound wonderful, this new garden of yours and no doubt will be a sight for sore eyes when finished. Take your time though - a garden is to be enjoyed as it unfolds!
I took your statement about the Hunky Gardener's Wedding Reception to be elsewhere (and not at your house - lol lol) maybe I'm wrong and you are now holding open house?
If that's the case, can I book the weekend of 27th June please? nothing too fancy, canapes, champs. etc and those little smoked salmon sarnies with cress - lol lol
You take care now, whatever you are doing - and take your time!!!
Bi for now

Edit: must have been typing at the same time))))

Take it easy, or you'll have us lot on your back again!!LOL. Well, Ive got a new cooker coming monday, so now I have to find a "Spark", to unwire the old one and rewire the new one! I was going to do it myself, but then Lin pointed out to me that it could affect my house insurance, ...............and my health, if I got it wrong!LOL. So, I,me off to flick through the yellow pages. Love as always xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Ahhhhhh Taff.... fiddling around with leckie causes sparks to fly, lolol!! Are you going to keep it in it's shiny new wrapper so no-one can touch it? lol!!
I once cleaned a cooker to within an inch of it's life... removed all the screws etc (had a couple left over when I put it all back together again!!, but what the heck) and then wrapped it in cling film for 6 weeks until we moved... we BBQ'd or ate out for the rest of that summer.... those were the days!!
The turf is now down... it looks lovely..... The garden is a very strange shape, which is why it is being done in three stages!! In the original plans, there was going to be another house in the close... we are right at the end of a cul-de-sac.. but the horse chestnut trees would have been a bit too close for planning permission... so we ended up with all the land, plus a driveway that takes three cars comfortably.
The thing is, it is much bigger than most modern gardens would normally be... but the front is twice the size of the back and was used by the builders as the place to make the mortar for all the houses. We wanted to bring part of the front into the back by moving where the fences were...... otherwise sitting where the last of the sun is, it was like sitting in a goldfish bowl!!
I know I rabbit on about it.... but we have lived for so many years in homes where we expected only to be for a short while... by the time I got the garden looking nice, I would have to leave it. And each garden I started from scratch... no-one ever did any more than mow the lawns in a military house, although that seems to be changing a bit these days. It just sort of feels that I have to get it done quickly in case we move on.... but believe you me, there are no plans to move anywhere. It is just the mindset I have got into over the years.
I am pretty much the same about knocking walls down, lol.... the bits that we were going to do ourselves, indoors, we haven't finished, as I was too tired, and then ill, so the house still looks a bit like a building site... I don't really care, as the garden is first with me.... but we shall finish the kitchen bit by bit over the winter months. Oh.... and maybe I will decide what sliding doors I want in the wardrobe alcove... we have the innards, but no doors. Wmsl..... posh it ain't!!
Must go... have a sister to meet, lol!!
Love

LOL Daff, how do you think my hair ended up like this!! I've got a "spark" now, for £50, to come out tomorrow and disconnect the old one, and is coming back monday to connect the new one. I wish I could leave the flippin thing in it wrapper, cos I'me sick of cooking!!! Your garden sounds fabulous! nearly as nice as mine (Chokes on lies)! Enjoy your day with your Sis, catch you later. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

*slaps Taff's back to stop her choking* lol
I'll bring photos on Saturday... some bits still need to be done... they are finishing tomorrow, so I'll take some photos then.
I have bought a few more plants today.... perennials this time, so they will hopefully live to see another year....
BC.... I put your lovely jasmine in yesterday... and bless, it has already curled it's tiny little fronds around the arch I have given it...... and I swear it has doubled in size. One of the cuttings really thrived... the other two have survived, but it was touch and go for a while, although they did eventually pick up and will soon be as big as their brother... so all three are now in their permanent home. I will water them as soon as the new lawn has had a good drink!! Talking of lawns... better go and turn the sprinkler off before I drown it!! Be back later!!
Love

Lol BC... I have to get beds now that will be suitable for little Princesses and also grown up guests, lol... I have a double bed in one room, R has his computer in another, and I am evicting myself from my computer room so that we can put the girls in here as they grow older. But son is 6ft 2, and all the bunk beds you can put down into two singles are just too short, lol... I think it will end up being those slidee under things... ordinary divan with a slide under guest bed. Decisions decisions!!
My pc is going into the conservatory so that I can enjoy the garden while I play on here!!
*puts away paint and Romany stencils*.....

Ohh well done Ann... I was supposed to remind you, lolol!! I am sure I would have remembered tomorrow, really, :¬)) You will love my garden... not a bit like yours, which is what inspired me in the first place.... but bits of it are sort of like yours and adapted... or they will be one day!! Instead of the trellis you have, I have the pathways lined with a couple of metal arches... with roses, clematis and BC's jasmine being trained to grow over them... they will give the impression of *garden rooms* that yours has, which I loved.
Do you know, my roses are wilting before my very eyes, knowing they are not going to be treated to dollops of BC's efficacious, exertremerly efficient equine effluent! lolol
And after that dreadful descent into music hall madness... I shall climb into my own bed, and say goodnight!!
Night all!
Love

Hi Daff, so very pleased to hear the good news that now you can eat and do almost whatever you please, I hope the news continues to be as good or even better.
The garden sounds lovely and I will get round to sending those bits and bobs, just been a bit busy disappearing to Liverpool and now we are back, both feel a bit of anti climax, we liked Liverpool a lot and wished we had arranged to stay longer than just the weekend. Have been looking at apartments to rent there with a view to making a longer visit but that won't be till next spring I think, we have already booked Heacham again for September, so looks like no Welsh visit for a while yet.
I am so sad I can't make it on Saturday, I did say hopefully last evening, did he fancy a quick trip to Swansea, the answer was a firm NO! Pushing my luck after last weekend, it wasn't cheap lol but such fun to surprise Dutch and see the others in the flesh.
I will be thinking of you all on Saturday and hope you have a great time, don't pick up any nasties.
love and hugs Lizxxx

Morning Daff, I just love the sound of BC's Horse dollops!!LOL. Well another beautifull day here, fingers crossed it will hold until tomorrow! I cant wait to see the photos of your garden, and Ann's "House", in fact I just cant wait until tomorrow!! My sons car ended up a right off, so he's taking it to the scrap yard today. I know this sounds weird, but I really got attached to that car, and the thought that I wont see it again outside ........well! Anyone would think it was a Rolls Royce, not just your run of the mill Mondeo, but it had a nice "feel" about it! ( right I have officially now lost the plot!!) The "spark" is coming at 9 to disconnect the cooker, ( now that I dont give a hoot about!), Why do things always break in threes? I'me waiting now for the third thing!LOL(hope it's not me!LOL). See you tomorrow!!! Love as always xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
