Hi

There is a programme on ITV1 tonight at 9pm - 5 people have lost 100 stone between them!

Hi Everyone.

Good new from the scales - 2.5lb off this week. I am really pleased especially as I haven't stuck to the exercise side of it very well.

I tried the new Coleen Nolan workout - Discoburn - with a friend on Monday and we really enjoyed it (well, as much as you can enjoy it moving like a beached whale!) It's not to high a level, so you can keep going, but I can't do left and right, so it will take me a few goes to work out which arm goes with which leg etc. Once we have worked that out I think we will enjoy having a sing song and workout at the same time. Not done any since then though

I have found the eating regime much easier to get back onto than I expected (apart from a Chinese last night, which I have been promising the Kids for ages - but I have done it now, so there won't be any more takeaways for a while - phew!)

Tina - I know exactly what you mean. I was 'Christine' when I first joined, and like you, used to look through threads thinking 'Eh? I don't remember saying that' so I changed to Tina (which is what my mates call me) and added the ~j to avoid the confusion!

Hope everyone is keeping going - we'll be so pleased with ourselves come summer. I'm off to paint the kitchen - you can't eat and paint at the same time, and it's a bit like exercising!

Good luck
Tina x

Glad to hear that the punds are starting to fall away, I get weighed on Tuesday and have been quite good, as long as I loose a pound or 2 each fortnight I will be happy, I have got loads more to loose but I still want to be able to have a meal out and an occasional take away without the guilt!
Am allready planning to go out Tues evening for a treat-does this defeat the object?? No I don't think so as I will be back to healthy eating plan by the next morning!!!!

Well done Tina-j thats a good start,
Keep up the good work everybody!!

Feeling a bit fed up, got on my Wii Fit this morning for the big weigh in and I have put a pound on. I have been dancing my way through the week on the dance mat plus loads of walking round at work, house to house and I have refused every single little sweet, chocolate or any other form of the sweet stuff. I suppose thats what I get for losing 4 pounds in one go last week !!!

I just want to go and eat a box of chocolates, but have to resist and see what next week brings.

Well done to all those who have lost weight, keep up the good work

Hi All,

Have been good for the last week and lost 2 lbs.

Very pleased with myself.

Hope you all have a good week

Well done,Linda G. & everyone else who is trying hard.

Marilyn-don't despair,if you have been really good with healthy eating and exercise, just ignore the scales for this week, and the chockies.I've found that a lot of the time,if you're really trying hard, that will be reflected on the scales the following week,so you should get a lovely surprise next week.
Don't forget too, that muscle weighs more heavily than fat.If you're doing a lot of exercise, your weight is probably being redistributed more evenly around your body, and the fat could be turning into muscle.Try some clothing that's been a bit tight-if it's looser on you, you'll know that what you're doing is working.Measure yourself too, quite often you will lose
inches or centimetres, and your clothes will fit better, but the scales won't move. You have to look at the total picture, don't just focus on the scales!
You will probably feel better and have more energy too, with all that exercise.Keep going,Marilyn and everyone else as well.(I'm finding the Paul McKenna weight loss CD fantastic,it really keeps me on the straight and narrow.)

Best wishes,hope this helps,

Margot xx

Hi all,

Well I had a good week eating really well and very healthily. Loads of fresh fruit & veg, natural yoghurt, fish etc I even managed to go to a conference on Saturday and request no potatoes and extra veggies with my chicken, I had my Saturday night curry with salad and not rice...................however after spending the whole conference with 80 teenagers I felt I deserved a few drinks....oops, had a couple of glasses of wine and 2 bottles of beer.

Anyway back on track now and I even went swimming this morning before college and did 50 lengths of the pool. The good news is when I weighed in this morning I had lost 5lb, now 12st 2.5lb.....Yippee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I do normally lose quite a bit in my 1st week then slow right down, I do think most of it is fluid tho!

I am signing up for a Salsacise course next week and will hopefully start at the gym, on Wednesday!

I have now booked my holiday to Portugal in the summer so I now have a target of at least 35lb (from now) by then!

Good luck all

love Theresa(

Theresa, you have done well , I have just done my first week on this new programme the doc gave me, dont know about the weight loss ,if any ,the main thing for me at this moment in time is feeling better, it seems one of the reasons I was so tired was because I wasnt eating enough of the right stuff, now I am on a more balanced way of eating, amd it seems to be working......I am sleeping better too.....If i drop a size in clothes that will be a bonus, so I am not going to do a weigh in until I see the doc again in a few weeks. ........

Linda G, that sounds like something I would do get sidetracked with the roses, although I must admit I never got to finish the tin before the diet took over. That reminds me, there was a box of chocolates on the table when I went to work this morning, it has gone now. Must investigate. Well done on the 2lb off anyway.

Well done Teresa on losing 5lb, you did deserve a little drink or two after looking after all those teenagers, we can overlook that cant we. Fifty lengths of the baths, its a long time since I did that many, I can remember doing 30 and that was a while ago, for charity. Well done!!!
I fancy the idea of salsasize, I love dancing thats why I have my dance mat, still a long way to do though before I can even master basic, got nearly all `A`s on beginner level though.

Thanks for putting the poem up Linda in Berkshire, made me laugh and cheered me up, almost forgot I had to go back to work later lol.

Thanks for your words of advice and encouragement Margot, I have resisted the chocolate again, it was very hard this week, but as you say, see what happens on Saturday, going to start going swimming with my sister in a few weeks, but local pool is closed for refurbishment at the moment, bad timing !!

Keep up the good work everyone,

Marilyn x

Hi Linda, love the poem, so many true words there!!

Glad everyone is doing well, I got weighed today and in 2 weeks have lost the 6lbs I gained over christmas and so I am back to my pre christmas weight

My next goal is to lose a stone by mid march. That will be one year since I started on my "healthy eating plan" and I am just over 4 stone lighter than I was then so am very pleased with myself!!
I still have "several" stones to lose by I find just giving myself smallish targets to keep works for me, otherwise I would never have been able to lose the weight I have so far!!

Keep up the good work everyone!!

Day from hell!!!

Ice on roads was awful this morning. If my daughter hadnt broken the car door (by trying to force it open in the frost) I would have just gone back to bed (I SHOULD HAVE!!!!); our roads are NEVER gritted! Anyway I trundeled in to college this morning-having dilegently packing a back for the gym- and was going to the mechanic (see above). Half way in aforementioned door decided to shut. DD2 had held it shut for the 2 mile/30min drive..........

DD1 had been instructed to let me know she had got into placement safely thru the frost..............she texted to say car had packed up.......grrrr. Hubby rescued at 9.30am (she was in car for an hour!) but her engine caput/knackered etc...

Went to gym at 1pm as planned to find kit was left on table in the keffuffle this morning; met hubby for BLACK coffee!!!

Between school/placement/creche pick ups I got home about 5pm with the intention of getting to the aqua class at 7.10pm..........................AM I mad????

Tow rope snapped about 5 times before we decided to call in the cavalary -our 7 seater- towed daughter car home and therefore missed aqua by 10 mins!!! Mind you I am glad, when I looked in the pool they were all about size 6!!! Roll on Monday and Salsa class!

I am consoling myself in a glass of wine....................well I was otherwise good today.

Bf: apple, yoghurt with nana and flaxseed

Lunch; 2 oranges, chicken salad

Tea: 75g (uncooked rice) loads of veg and 1 chicken breast with soy. and an orange!

Here to tomorrow...and hopefully the gym, my bag is now packed in the car!

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the poem,Linda in Berkshire.

Everyone sounds like they're well on track, well done all of you!

I'm a bit disappointed with my results from the last 2 weeks-I only lost .2kgs the 1st week-(might have had something to do with having a Chinese takeaway on Sat.night), then the 2nd week I actually gained .1 of a kilo, much to my horror! On the bright side,I am motivated to exercise
every day,my clothes are definitely looser and fitting better, and on the whole,my food choices are pretty good.I'm enjoying doing salads, and eating healthily, and I'm still determined to keep on losing weight,so
hopefully next week will be better!

Good luck everyone,stay focused,

Margot xx

Hi everyone

Well done to all those who are still going at it - even if like me you are not getting on very well with your scales.

I have been feeling a bit guilty this week (and putting off confessing!) The diet hasn't been too good this last week. The meals themselves were OK it was the 'inbetweenies' that spoilt it. However - I did manage to stay the same (it could have been worse.) I think if there was a degree in 'Eating healthily but just managing to sabotage it enough to prevent weight loss' I would get a 1st class honours with no effort at all - its my specialty! I have managed to get a grip though today - so fingers crossed.

There is good news though - the exercise regime is going very well. My friend and I have kept all our workout dates and are really enjoying doing Coleen Nolan's new exercise DVD - Discoburn. Unfortunately for the neighbours we are now able to keep up and go the right way most of the time, so have begun singing along as we exercise.

I am feeling a big difference in the way my clothes fit, energy levels and even skin condition and am shocked to be able to report that I am looking forward to tomorrows workout!

Margot - I am beginning to wonder whether we are twins and someone forgot to tell us something - snap!

Teresa - well done - another half a pound - it all helps. How did your Salsa class go?

Good luck for next week

Tina x
