Thank you girls for offering to help look for my Absalom I have searched for 6 years nearly 7 and tired everything. I will tell you what I have
Absalom Lee was born 23rd June 1871 born in Southleigh his parents are Absalom Lee Father and Eliza Lee formerly Ackland is his mother his father (My Great Grandfather was a farm Labourer. ) the birth was registered in Hontion Devon. the last trace of him was in the 1881 census he was 10 years old living with his parents(but his father in that c ensus was called Abraham (Cottage ) Lee although the year he was born 1826 is right and they were living at Bradfield Cottage Southleigh. that census gives his father as a Farm Labourer and the son also named Absalom aged 10 working on a farm after that he vanished. His father Absalom born in 1826 died in June 1889 district Honiton Devon. the 1891 census show his wife (my Great Grandmother Eliza living with two daughter Ida Lee and Mahala Lee Ida Lee died in 1895
young Absalom's brother Fredrick (Krid ) had moved to London and joined the army Walter his younger brother had joined the Royal Navy as a cabin boy the other brothers . John Lee . Francis, and George moved to Wales to Canton and Bedwelity where they married and worked as miners. the sons all went down the mines except on who became a police officer.
I tried Wales to see if he had gone to them I tried Australia to see if he had gone to his mothers family as a lot emigrated to Victoria SW.
I tried looking for a marriage. a death, checked the newspapers to see if he died in an accident and it had been reported I tried one paper that was the Hontion News. to my surpise I found my Great Grandfather in there he had been a naughty boy and was taken to court charged with selling Cider and Ale without a licence the customes and Excise Authroities took the summons out he pleaded guilty and was fines £5 penelty. this was the same year his son Absalom was born. so you see I have covered everything I can.
I am wondering if he could have died in a mining accident in Wales as it will not show up in the English ones.

I've just been really brave & ordered a cert online, it was relatively easy(no pun intended), lets hope all is correct now. Actually it was much easier than I thought, compaired to actually finding details of each place where birth was registered, then phoning at the right time etc!!

Hoping the weather is drier for everyone today, even if tomorrow isn't looking so good.

Friends came to dinner yesterday, enjoyed their company and good food.

Hope Rita checks what I have found even if she already has the info. Rita I can't find Absolom coming forward either !! Will check again in a minute when I've had my first cup of tea.

Pauline I meant to say the name was Leigh and then changed to Lee so you come across that change all the time Im am concentrating on the Absalom with the Dent family.

Linda, I don't think Rita has any info on Absalom after the age of 10.

Hi, just after my post yesterday my lizard started to flicker then kept going dark. I have just gone and bought a new one.
