Hi Marilyn
Not shy about my age, as I would have been when I was younger. Born in 1952 making me 57. My husband will be retiring in the not too distant future, he works for BA and wants us to travel when he retires and use the benefits he's built up over more than 30 years. So it might be seen as fate taking a hand. Though I was hoping to work until next summer when our youngest daughter gets married.

I too seem to be getting up earlier now with the lighter mornings and the birds singing. From Friday my husband will be getting up before 5:00 so I hope to sleep a little later.

Marilyn we don't have any grandchildren yet, but hopefully in the future. I would think it will be nice to look after them occaisionally, but we have no intention of being full time carers as it would be too much commitment in our retirement. More than happy to babysit, weekends and sometimes to have them for holidays. But having done childcare for most of my working life we wish to be able to have freedom to come and go as we want and not be tied by our childrens work now.

Must admit to loving my laptop too and am lost when I am away or when it plays up !!!

Hope you have less pain in your back now Marilyn.

When the children do finish I have loads of decorating to catch up with, keep putting it off as not enough time at present.

Well, I'm ashamed of myself !!

All because of a new boiler !.....last week before my back pain I started to tidy up my kitchen ,as hubby said a new boiler will be a good time to paint the kitchen.
So this morning feeling more energetic I started to clear out the kitchen cupboards...the food ones...and I had jars of assorts pickles and jams and you name it I had it, BUT some were (between 3 & 9yrs old, Oh I was shocked and embarrassed. I filled a whole bin FULL !!.
Mind some I had not even opened !!

So now I am up to date with everything so you can all come for lunch or dinner ,I have a clear conscious LOL

Got to do some more now on my Cake cupboard .

Linda go on retire now....Your daughter will need you to go and choose all the arrangement's for the wedding !
And you have to look your best don't forget the mother of the bride is most important ...LOL

Hi Sue,

Just old flour, old currants, old sultana's and old everything !!

All chucked away....LOL

Got three very large bin bags....think hubby will have to go to the tip !!

But kitchen looks better already.....not been painted yet... LOL

You trying to catch up with me and my out of use foods? I will have the third freezer to empty on Monday whenthe dustmen come again.

Like yourself though when we had the new kitchen last autumn, I was amazed at the dates on some foods..................... mad as you think you use things regularly !!! Seems to be things like herbs and spices you get for a recipe and don't use often enough.

school phoned home and 22 yr answerd and was lol
she say teacher need to grow up and get a life
as he ask the question as a part of his learning prosess

well some think like that

thay say he was homafobic
she say mmm yerr and your talking to his sister that is as bent as a to bob note lol

i dont no why thay bother as my lot got a ansewr for every think

there is no way im telling him off for it
