peppi think we have diverted the debate rather lol.....

modern technology versus the 'old' methods of communication ?

who misses the letter in the post, the spoken phone call from a mate not a text.... the real person in the flesh (so to speak!) rather than the cyber friend.....??

answers by carrier pigeon please.....lol

xx

I do love reading a hand written letter and when my son was overseas he always said he loved getting his mail..

You are so right Rose.

My old PA never used to talk to me - communicated solely by e-mail!!

I prefer to get letters and speak with people - but if it wasn't for 'cyber space' I wouldn't have made some of the good friends I have who are too far away to visit regularly .... so don't dislike modern technology :)

Off now - night folks.

And behave, because if you believe a certain poster I'm in charge at GR lol

I still write letters but less frequently, and mainly to older relatives and friends of the family.....

don't do texting, though after a 5 hour phone call from a mate the other night am seriously considering it lol

but it does worry me a bit that the art of conversation in person might be dying rather....

As much as I like e-mails and cyber communication I still feel that a real hand written letter is the best.
I tend to write "epic" letters myself 7 or 8 pages......lol

Hi Amanda ~~~

I do also feel that you sometimes get something from a hand written letter, a sense of the person more .

That's right Rose.........you can tell things about people from their style of hand writing.

I have hundreds of old letters from over the years, stuffed in draws.....but I can't bring myself to throw any of them away.
