Go to:

Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore.

Click on "Create a restore point".

Click Next.

Type a name in the box for this restore point (perhaps as suggested above).

Click Create.

You now need to open up Device Manager:

Go to Start > Control Panel

Make sure you are in Classic View (it will tell you in the top left corner and you can click there to toggle between the modes).

Once in Control Panel, double click on the System icon.

Click on the Hardware tab.

Click on the Device Manager button.

Tell me when you have got to this part.

it might be worth jotting down the make and model number as listed at this point in case this doesn't work and I need to go looking for other drivers/patches.

Under the General tab, what does it say for "Device status"?
(from this point you may find that you have to keep minimising and maximising windows)

skwirrel 1

skwirrel 1 Report 16 Jun 2008 17:11

This device is working properly.

If you are having problems with this device, click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter.
