I don't think it is the breeders at fault here.............if people thought carefully what responsibility a dog is before buying one, the shelters wouldn't be quite so full. |

Good point Maddie, i heard a vet on the radio saying that its a myth that you should let a bitch have a litter , then have her spayed. It does more harm than good. |

I do beleve in the dog license am I right it was quite cheep ? so perhaps it needs to more expensive where i live dogs roam around neglected and in a terrible state .they foul wherever .and we are fined for not clearing up .some bodies dog leaves a message outside my gate too .but I have animals i have just sold guinea pigs because I wanted to make sure people wre going to be responsible with them .Ialways end up with animals because folk lose interest in them hence the zoo in the shed. I'm for and against on this subject.. i'm a 3rd generation dog breeder and totally hate breeders for profit, dogs used to cost £150 for small breeds to £350 for larger breeds.. |

i dont think bringing a dog licence back will work it did not before but i do think there should be a law brought out to stop breeders making such a huge profit they should be only allowed to charge a min fee for a dog maybe then it would stop the puppy farms breeding young bitches as young as six months some of the dogs i have seen with their teats stretched that they are nearly touching the floor all around the country rescue centre are saving ex breeding dogs some have never had human contact like being stroked or know a loving hand if the price of all dogs was set by the goverment and people could not make a living from breeding i think it would stop how for eg can you justify 1ooo pounds for a bulldog this is my opinion owner of three dogs two of rescue lilymoon |

certain circumstances i agree a pet is a pet inbut if you have children you have to know the dog or even cats back ground , i think puppy farms bred only for profit like everyone else is disgusting and not fit for pigs, the goverment actually said to farmers in wales when they stopped milk farming, to use the pens for breeding dogs, and then in 1985 gave them a grant of 5000 to buy more breeding stocks, i feel really strong and support them being banned, you can usually tell a puppy farmer, the dogs are cheaper he will make excuses so that you can't see the parents and go as far as offering to deliver, ive seen the video on line and its so cruel, but as for breeders that let there dog have no more than 2 litters a year are doing nothing wrong, to me my puppy is my child, you could say humans should think of adopting before breeding themselfs. |

Thing is if people didn't pay the money they wouldn't be able to charge the prices !! lol. No one is making them pay £1000 ..... they are doing it of their own free will. I personally wouldn't pay that much but that's just me xx |

but if we could get the goverment to bring a law out that nobody could charge more than 120 pounds people would not breed dogs for a living or pocket money not only are people making a profit out of bitches they are even making money studing there dogs at 200 a time lilymoon |
