he everyone very grateful for the help last time I have done a lot work om my tree but the hard part now is Irish side I have my grandad William James Rankin 1906 1979 and jean Irvine 1904 1987 I cannot find any records looked in loads places drawn blank any suggestion please thanks ray

Unfortunately the Findmypast website is down for maintenance at the moment so I can't look up anything at the moment. When it's back on I will see if I can find anything.

No Jean Irvine of anything like the right age on 1911 Irish census

Irvine sounds Scottish to me..............

where did you find the years of their births and deaths?

How do you know Jean was from Crumlin?

In your opening post you said Jean died in 1987, but in your last post you say she died in 1979. Which is correct? Where did she die?

In a PM to me, Jean was said to have died in 1997.

Hence my request for checked date info

its not my mother its grandmother she was born in northern Ireland to the best of my knowledge I also don't know when she married my grandfather

You said in your PM to me that your cousin photographed Jean's gravestone. Can you tell us exactly what the wording is on it, please.

Your mother's birth could give a pointer to the marriage of your grandparents.

These things have to be done step by step.

You haven't yet given any indication of how your came about the 'info' you have about your grandparents.

We are working 'blind'.

Many Irish birth/marriage/death/census records were destroyed in an explosion and fire at the Public Records Office in 1922.

It may be that Jean's birth record was among them, and possibly her marriage record too.

My late mother-in-law was born in Belfast in 1921, but I've never found any trace of that.
