Not every grave has a headstone. Several of OHs rellies are buried there. We've managed to find the plots (sort of) but there are only depressions in the ground. I don't think there was even a small plot marker.

No harm in asking, although they may make a charge. They're not exactly helpful. I'd asked for a site map to help us find the plots we were interested in. None were available although they did say a groundsman was usually on duty. If they were working on a Sunday, they weren't visible.
Before Ancestry had uploaded the burial registers I'd emailed to request a 'look up'. I'm still waiting for a reply.

If the council aren't willing to assist, let me know. OH loves (not ) visiting graveyards!

Not finding anything in the registers or on deceased online for Arthur. I've rarely been able to find free records for people who lived in the Bromley reg.

Where was his home address at the time of his death? Unless there was a strongly held religious reason, by 1987 the majority of remains were cremated.

If you can post the GRO index for both Lilian and Arthur, we might be able to have another look.

It could be that if she wasn’t baptised, she wouldn’t be buried “from the parish”, and may have been placed in an adult’s coffin.
