Hello Michele..what started as an enquiry about Isabella Boag has become something of a journey!!..But I have long arms!!
So..the Magaret Carr who married Robert Boag and came forth with isabella........turns out to be the sister of EBENEZER CARR.... I notice you don't have their mother.....I can fill that one in for you
John Carr 1786 and Jane Gray 1787 were married 20.06.1818 John Carr's parents were Robert Carr and Mary.
You have the family tree pretty spot on, and hopefully i can fill in one or two details.....One of Ebenezer's sons was JOHN WILLIAM CARR who married MARY ELIZABETH GRAY in 1856..and its this John William, his wife and his children whose pictures i have found, and will send to you to your EMail.
Incidentally John Carr and jane gray Carr 1786/7 ended up in Chesterfield Derbyshire in 1861...living at Sheepbridge House..next door to the Sheepbridge Pub....and next door on the other side to ANOTHER John Carr his wife Hannah and their family!!!
More later..

Hi Derek would you mind if I question Dianne on your thead??
Dianne, who were the parents of your Sam Blackwell and where from.
All the Eyam Blackwells called their kids the same names, making it difficult to sort out which twig they are from.
The names of his children may help also, and I stress MAY.

Hello Karen..long time no see..nice to hear fr5om you again.
Its just as well that lancashire is my second string as it were, and that I am as brilliant as a lot of you think I am!! (lololol)
I have yet to find why CATHERINE LANGSTON ended up in Hayfield in 1881..but I will!!
CATHERINE CLEGG was baptised Salford lancashire.daughter of John and Betty..11.06.1807
She married RICHARD OLIPHANT LANGSTON at Salford 13.03.1833 Richard was born at Broughton St Anns 12.01.1796 son of Richard and betsy. 1841/11851 show catherine and Richard (wrongly shown as Robert) increasing their family..all in Lancs to SEVEN
Bi 1861 Catherine is a widow 1871 she is still in Salfoed..then 1881 in Derbyshire.......... Derek

Hello Derek
I've come on to your thread now to thank you for the info on the death of Mary Holmes, widow of Abel. Because of the connection to George Holmes it looks to be her although the age is out quite a lot, I've got her on the 1841 as being 45. Have you got an address for where she died or any burial details? Also I'm still trying to find the death record of her first husband George Tattersall, various spellings, I think he must have died sometime between 1829 and 1844. In 1841 Mary was living in the parish of St.Peter in Nottingham with her son Robert so it looks like she moved between Derbyshire and Notts. Any help much appreciated Regards Kathleen

Hi Derek ...
Its because you are so brillant that we keep coming back for morrrreeee......
Tks for that info. It is strange she ends up in Derbyshire. Her 2 daughters with her on the 1881 census then marry in Derbyshire as well . Another of Richard and Catherines children ( Mortimer Langston , he is my gggrandfather) ) comes to Australia, it is said he was disowned by the family and taken off the BDM as a son, but it has been reentered at a later date. Richard Langston is the grandson of Sir Stephen and Dame Rebecca Langston of London.
Just trying to cfm that the Catherine Langston who dies in Derbyshire is the correct one ...
Cheers Karen of Brisbane

Fudge.....Hi Gill.welcome back......wondered what had happened to you....which does not amount to missing you!!
And now you hit me with this!! No wonder you're confused, and its tool ate at night for me to go too far into it...........
I have no evidence that William Hollingworth was born Newbold 1796..which is not to say he wasn't...........
a certain WILLIAM HOLLINGWORTH married ELIZABETH MUSGROVE at Pinxton 10.10.1814....both OTP.as in OFF THIS PARISH..which doesn't mean they were born there..........in fact Pinxton Parish Records, which I have, show they were not. Interstingly the witnesses were John and Ann Hollingworth..and the marriage was by parents consent..which mean that one of them was under 16 Now then.a certain William Hollingworth born 1796 is, in 1841 married to Phoebe Jarvis (married 22.11.1835..and they have seven children.......thereafter there is no mention of either of them..........
more later.will investigate further.
Phoebe Jarvis was baptised at Staveley 16.08.1807 daughter of John and Sarah
and appears to have died 1865

Hi Derek,
Yes have 'googled' Sir Stephen.. as you say interesting reading, also several of their other off spring . Have also been in touch with several people who have extensive background info on the "Langston" family. I suppose if one cant have a 'convict' to OZ in ones direct line, then a SIR and a DAME are pretty good ...

Hi Derek and Annina, my apologies to all. Have been away for too long as my computer died of old age. Lucky for me, I had spent coniderable monies many years ago on tuition for my son re computers ... and it has come back in spades. He rebuilt my entire machine! However, it is so frustrating that now I must "repopulate" the whole thing.
re the Blackwells you are researching, if Derek doesn't mind ... Sam was from the Bradbourne area and married my Sarah Gerrard, of whom Derek was very kindly researching my brick wall on her father. Their children were Elsie, Pamela and John.
Sam was previously married to a Hannah from 1850 to c1891, with children Mary, Ann and Samuel.
I hadn't had time to research his parentage before the "crash" .
Best wishes to all, Diane

,Hi Derek, nice to hear from you.
I havn't come across this particular Sam Blackwell yet,but I am willing to bet that if we go back far enough his family are related to my Eyam Blackwells.
It is all in the name, they all have a Samuel and George and Ann along with Hannah,Joseph, Peter, Elizabeth..........
I have found offshots in Dronfield, Sheffield, Bolsover, Workington, and the latest, a living rellie on the shores of Loch Lomond. Oh, and one had two brief tries at making his fortune in the states.
That is not to forget the ones who stayed nearer to home but far enough not to be on Eyam Parish Records

Hi Derek, great work on the Blackwells. Not sure how you keep all these queries current in your mind - monumental task that's for sure.
re Mr. Blackwell, lots of info there to add. Many thanks. Hope that info will also be useful to Annina. I'm sure a widower with three children was more than happy to find a mother for them, and Sarah a father for her three children by an "unknown"!!
Now if we could just find a "branch" for Srah's father. With your help on the mother Mary, I tracked down the lineage of all - brothers and sisters and their lines, but still wonder about the bible death date of the Joseph Gerrard of 26 Mar 1887 and it not fitting with Mary's widow status on the census.
We have a trip to England planned for spring, with the intention of presenting the full tree to my cousin, who did not realize how convoluted his parentage really is!!!! Will certainly mention your name as being integral to the success of this project.
Many thanks, Diane
