Hello Robin. Would you be so kind to look someone up for me, on the 1851? William Beardall, or Beardsall, aged around 50, living Worksop, a Surgeon. I would like to know all members of his household, including servants. Thank You. |

Ann Notts 1851 Piece 2122, Worksop Folio 51, 55 Potter Street William G Beardsall, Head , Mar, 50 yrs, Surgeon &General Practioner, Eliza , wife 33yrs, Barbara May/Mary Dau 12yrs,Elizabeth ???{Deakin?} UnMar 15yrs General Servant, All b Worksop. These three are all on the 1841 Census at Gateford Road, Worksop. I am not sure if you are tracking Beardsall or the servants as there is another Beardsall at 64 Potter Street who is also a Surgeon, with family and servants. Also looking at the 1841 Census the heads of these two families may be brothers with a father George who was also a Surgeon and married a Barbara in 1799. Let me know if you want details. |

Hello Robin Thank you once again for your help. I'm afraid I don't have anyone as posh as a Surgeon in my family - I'm interested in a Thomas Howley who was a servant with this family in the 1841. I contacted you before about Thomas, when you told me he was working as a servant, and living in Worksop.in 1841. Have since found out he was working for this family. I was hoping that he may still have been with them in 1851 (possibly with his name mistranscribed), as you couldn't find him before on 1851. Unfortunately, he's not! He's one of those people who just seems to have vanished off the face of the earth! Thanks again. |
