Hi Lesley - for when you next get bored! I have my direct family as such in 1851 samuel guyler 1815 basford bleacher elizabeth wife 1818 beverlee notts george son 1839 basford mary ann dau 1841 beverlee frederick son 1847 mansfield william son 1849 ' emma dau 1851 10weeks basford living academy place basford and1861 samuel gayler 1815 elizabeth frederick william emma john son 1853 samuel son 1855 henry son 1860 I'm trying to work out which 1841 family they belong to -there are 3 Samuel's about 1811,1814 and 1815. I've listed them below. I know my Samuel is a bleacher in 1851 and the children don't match the first lot. However I reckon there should be a Samuel(1815), Elizabeth(1818), George (1839) and possibly Mary Ann (1840/1). THe 2nd and 3rd family seem to be a mixture with a Samuel, Elizabeth and Mary in the 2nd( George missing), and a Samuel and George( Elizabeth missing) in the 3rd. Could you possibly trace these in 1851/61 to see if it helps to sort them out. I did think that perhaps they were all one family - ie parents at one address and grandparents at the other, but that doesn't make sense with a Samuel 1814 at one and Samuel 1815 at the other - am I right in thinking they don't list the relationships in 1841? 1841 all 3 samuel guyler 1811 warper pheobe 1811 matilda 1831 sarah 1834 mary 1839 william 1836 john brandreth lodger 1786 living chaffe st basford __ john 1791 f w k sarah 1781 samuel 1814 elizabeth 1819 ann 1820 mary 1840 living beggailee creasley ------ samuel 1770 ag lab ann 1765 samuel 1815 bleacher thomas 1821 george 1839 living back lane basford Thanks v much Jan |

Hi loopy Lesley, Could you please check the 1841 census for a Philip Barnard br 1800c in Essex?, I Know he had a son William br 1826, but don't know his wifes name. William went on to marry Hannah Goodwin in 1854, Feb 5th, and Philip is mentioned as father to William, that wedding took place at All Saints, West Ham. Any details ref Philip Barnard and family in the 1841 census would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks Ben. Forgot to mention that William was born in Writtle Essex. B. |

Thank you very much Lesley - I know you like a challenge. Just to clarify, is the family in 1851 with all the Sarah's one family living in the same place? there seem to be two Sarah grandchildren- not sure what the arrow marks mean Thanks Jan |

JAN ******* Yes each census I give is everybody in the household..I put them in Age order to make it easier for people to understand. I then seperate each house by doing this as below ************************************************************************ I put the >>> to highlight people refered to in message.... So John & Samuel are the same ones you gave in 1841 together If you look at the order I have put them in that is how they are on the image so I am Assuming that Sarah (No2) is John & Sarah's Grandaughter from a different child not one of Samuels children as they are all under Samuel and his Wife.... Hope this makes sence if not let me know :~) Lesley :~) |
