Hi i wonder if anyone can help me with a MARRIAGE or DEATH information as i've searched for years to find her.
She was my mothers sister & the story goes she disappeared in approx 1932

she's not married to Mr Lawrence either even ancestry keeps trying to match her with him, that was her cousin

That Nellie was her cousin born 10 years earlier to one of my great-grandfathers children also called charles ArgyllGran

I'm afraid, assuming she disappeared voluntarily, it looks as if she must have changed her name - there's no sign of her as Ellen / Nellie Catton, as far as I can see.

Unless Maddie's suggestion is correct, and unless her DOB is wrong in 1939!

It would be worth buying a copy of the Catten / Battershill marriage cert, to see who she names as her father.

Although the transcription of the 1939 register Maddie posted from FMP says her DOB was 19 July 1908, the image says 19 Feb 1908, and is transcribed correctly on Ancestry.

It's such a shame, apparently she took off after a row over money, I have no more info about that.
My mother had three brothers & another sister who gave birth to twin girls only one survived & was later adopted..........a month after giving birth My mothers sister Rosie died in hospital........ Nellie's disappearance was just before Rosie died
So mum lost both sisters at the same time

I've been doing this for donkeys years & had so many amazing results....... just that odd one or two :-(
