My grandmother was Margaret Stacey, nee Peake. I have her marriage certificate which shows her as 29 in 1910. Her father is given as Thomas Edward George Peake. For him I have a possible baptism date 7 Mar 1852 and possible birth date of 9 December 1851.
There's a possible C1911 record showing him widowed with a son (?) of the same name, and a possible C1871 with a daughter Margaret, but it's not consistent with the C1911 one. Then there's a possible C1861 which shows his parents as Thomas & Margaret, and a birth place of Hackney for Margaret sister / daughter. I'm inclined to believe the C1861 record, but I'm worried that that might be because it tells me what I want to hear!
But I have so far failed to turn up a believable birth / baptism record for Margaret 1881. I wondered whether anyone else might have more success. I'd be grateful of any help you can offer.

Hi Keith.
Please can I just confirm a couple of things? As your solid evidence is the marriage cert, please can you give all the details from it - address for Margaret, Thomas Peake's occupation, and name of witnesses.
Thanks
Jan

Date: 25 December 1910
John Hamilton Stacey - 45 years - bachelor - 120 Barking Road Canning Town - father John Hamilton Stacey (deceased) - draper's warehouseman
Margaret Peake - 29 years - Spinster - Gore Farm Hospital, Dartford (she was a nurse) - father Thomas Edward George Peake - provision merchant
Married in a registry office, witnesses A Stacey and A E Stacey
I think A E Stacey is probably Annie Elizabeth, A Stacey might be Alexandra Wilhelmina Stacey but thats a bit of a stretch.
Thanks for asking!

@brummiejan, yes, I'm pretty sure that's her, and it gives a birthplace.
There's a transcription error in the last but one line: Henrietta => Hamilton
Where is this record from please?

Could this be a second marriage for Thomas Edward George Peake in 1884

Marriages Jun 1884 (>99%)
Cracknell Emily Islington 1b 547
Granfield Charles Islington 1b 547
Peake Thomas Edward G Islington 1b 547
Taylor Mary Islington 1b 547

If so then perhaps Margaret Peake born c1881 might possibly be his step-daughter

Looking at the age of the man she married, she probably added a few years, to make the difference seem less dramatic.

He was about old enough to be her father

When did she die?

@Jacqueline
The names and places all match, that looks very interesting. Can you please say where you found this?

@Yvonne
Thanks for that, that might be a sone as it's 30 years after Margaret's father.

@Chris
I hadn't thought about a second marriage, that might help. I do have a possible for him aged about 60 as widower but it doesn't say how many wives have died!

@Karin
That record looks probable, thank you. Where's it from?

@brummiejan
That's a possible sister I suppose, I wish I could get some confidence in Margaret's mother's name.

Many many thanks to you all!
