Looking for a marraige between Dorothy Jane Brown born 1852 Northumberland to a William Blackbird from Durham born 1840. Both of these had been married 3 times. Her first was 1876 and second 1883, his were 1861 and 1873, now where there marraige fits in I am not sure but I believe it is after 1873. There is a hint that he had a child out of wedlock so maybe this was to Dorothy and they never married?, have looked and can find nothing. Her two previous marriages were to George Todd and Robert Hunter, would she get married again in her married name or her maiden name? |

Hi Gillian, presuming that she had been "properly" married then subsequent remarriages would be in her married name of the time. |

Sorry, no idea. I know she married William after her marriage to George Todd as her children were then listed as his. |

He lived in County Durham, Dorothy was Northumberland, and because of his job I guess they all lived in County Durham when they married. |

There were two William Blackbirds from Durham (see OP), one born c1841 and one born c1845. Which one of these is the correct one in 1881? |
