I think these 2 marriages are for a yet another different Thomas, the age is wrong as he was 24 according to the 1883 marriage. The one we were trying to eliminate was married to Mary Ann, and found on census with her. |

I realise that but I am making sure we can eliminate them. I think you are on the right track too Flip. |

Think this iss the Thomas on the 1891 census, with parents Joseph & Elizabeth, but the one Lambert was looking for had mother Jane, and is 10 years older than this one: |

on the 1881 that Lambert started with Thomas was a dyer and I think that could be the clue. |

Thanks LK but, as Flip says, - those marriages are for yet another Thomas. |

You are right, he was a dyer (unemployed) on an earlier census, and the Thomas I tracked to Wakefield 1891, Stockport 1901-1911 was also a dyer. |

It is so easy to follow the wrong one. I did it with one of my many Smiths. It was not till the 1911 came out I could see it.It is also difficult to follow on a thread like this. |

Did you notice the Houghtons at 78, Cockhedge Lane, in 1891. |
