Rene

I think it is an uncommon occurrence

and I really don't know ............. hopefully, physio will do the trick.

But I'm guessing that she might have a "tricky" back for ever.

I know my major problem is related to the sacro-iliac, but mine is because the spine has degenerated, and this has meant that the muscles are not properly attached, and pull the s-i out of alignment.

Physio has kept me upright and walking for the last 12 or so years.

Brynn's grandmother is Nain to all her grandchildren

the Welsh term.

Both OH and his sister are half-Welsh, and sis thought that would be a good name.

I asked OH if he wanted MJ to call him Taid (or Teid) .... but he went for Grandpa.

I think the difference is sis is a widow, and so there was no-one else to consider

But Nain isn't my heritage, and it felt wrong for me to use that name.

Cute story ...................

the niece who visited on Friday with her 20 month old, said that for quite a period of time he called all electronics Nain ....... iPod, computer, tv, etc etc

that's because they talk to Nain via Skype, and parents would say "let's talk to Nain" ..... and turn on the computer!

Hello "Hotlips" Cynthia..:))

Mine both sides called Nanny and grandad but we added their surnames on when speaking of them.

Mother is a Grandma ,father is a Grandad to most of the grandchildren and great grandchildren, but Mum and dad most of the time to my boys as they never heard me call them anything else and as the boys call me Viv it didnt matter.

And mother liked it that way.

I of course as you know am a GrannyViv.

Only cos the grandchildrens mother wouldnt have me called Viv or Mamgu (pronounced Mamgee,Welsh for grandmother)which were my requests.

They have so many Nanna,s Nanny,s and Grandma,s that I wanted something different and def not to be designated Nan in Wales!!

LadyKira

LadyKira Report 8 Aug 2010 23:22

Aunty Hilda talked about Taid Griffiths and Taid Picton referring to where he lived. She also talked about Taid Mostyn and Phobe Mostyn. I am not sure if that was referring to place or surname.
