Why do manufacturers make shampoo bottles so difficult to open when stood in a wet shower!

I had to get my teeth around the head and shoulders to get the thing open

How on earth do elderly folk manage.....Cyns?

Oh it's so quiet here Ive had to put the TV on for some background noise

Im missing JB :(

Adding to the variety of subject matter on this thread.. JUNK MAIL

We all get it I'm sure. Most of it is instantly filed away in my large green filing cabinet (Recycling Bin) but occasionally I read some of it first. Here is this mornings batch (No wonder my postman suffers with his back):

A two for one Pizza offer (Yummy)

A brochure offering to save me up to £1,500 on river cruises throughout Europe.

A card from a training college offering courses in various subjects including:

English and Maths from KS1 (Whatever that is) to GCSE level.

Preparation of Car theory test with voice-over in Punjabi and Hindi

An ESOL Citizen course for those applying for indefinate leave to remain in Britain and those who have failed the Life in the UK test.

The final piece of Junk mail was to me at least, the most amusing:

A postcard from the Girlguiding UK telling me that by giving one hour per month of my time I can help to make a difference to girls and young women in my community. Now in my youth that may have been true but today I'm not so sure. Have they never heard of peadophiles. For those who don't know that is someone who is sexually attracted to vegetables (lol).

What did your junk mail contain?

Gee

Gee Report 5 Aug 2010 10:58

Jonesey..... an hour ;)

Oooher...close your ears Dea

Im still waiting for my junk mail

I think it has to do with people being "effected" Michael, you know, they cant drink good old Rosie Lee cos it dont sound posh enough...

And Gins,I boil my old ens else they do be a bit tough..:)

Junk mail Jonesey.
I often get the Pizza 2 for one offer and free delivery included?Still to find someone to deliver 50+ miles for free from those Pizza places yet, nearest being Swansea.
And if they did it would be cold I suspect and they would have to give me my money back anyway as that is one of their guarantees.

Cynthia Report 5 Aug 2010 15:29

Gins....if I may point the following out?

1. You are hardly likely to be standing in a DRY shower are you?

2. How good to know that you still have your own teeth as, indeed, do I.

3. How do elderly folk manage? I must find one to ask.

Speaking of....

Fans.....they are 'Affected' dear........so nice to be able to correct a spelling mistake from one who rarely makes an error that way. Wets finger and draws a no.1 in the air.

Jonesey......I seem to live in an area where a pizza shop opens every 10 minutes according to the amount of junk advertising I get. However, the nearest one is a long way from me. You actually have time to READ the junk mail......whew.......

As for the subject of 'Peas'! My oldest friend is a professor of Biology in Texas. Her main subject whilst at Aber in Wales......the sex life of the pea. I kid you not.

OH drinks Earl Grey tea.

I must now be about some messaging. I have received a pm from someone I have been trying to help around this site and I have not a clue what she is on about. sighs

Gee

Gee Report 5 Aug 2010 16:29

I as all my own teeth thank you. Fans I wondered what the eck you was on about

It was worth taking the time to 'wonder' as it did make me laugh!

Nope I always drank common a garden tea before I went somewhere and I had the best cuppa ever...I asked and they said it's 'Assam'

I hate all the posh teas....try Assam and you'll never buy PG Tips again...same sorta taste just crisper and more refreshing

Which takes me back to a holiday in the US. A big loud American lady on the table next to us at breakfast shouts at the waiter 'Do you have TWIN....ings'

Ah well...maybe if they’d put an 'e' after the 'n' she might have pronounced it correctly

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 5 Aug 2010 16:34

Ah....but remember how they pronounce 'Tomato'....maybe that how they pronounce it over there. Ask our Sylvs. Or JC. I vaguely remember glancing at a thread of hers today regarding how we speak over here.

Someone has just invited me over to Ancestry to see their tree.....sigh

I think this site needs to put the guidelines in flashing lights to be honest.

Gee

Gee Report 5 Aug 2010 16:39

My mother grew up in NJ/NY and she couldnt talk proper either

Although she spent most of her years in the UK she still used to say

Aloominum

Faucet

Sheesh.....speak proper like we does

Gee

Gee Report 5 Aug 2010 16:40

Sex and peas...doesnt that get a bit messy Cyns?

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 5 Aug 2010 17:00

I presume it was a purely academic study you numpty.

Oh you can be obtuse at times! lol

I've been thinking Jonesey. I was in the Girl Guides and I can't remember such offers being made. Have I missed out on something do you think?

And, before you start Gins....I did NOT wear one of those big hats and carry a stick thank you very much.

Am going out to pick some delicious runner beans for our evening meal........
