Hi,
If anyone has access to the 1841 census, could you please look up the following for me. Father Samuel Smith, daughter Matilda born c1826, 2 possible sisters Caroline unknown birth and Sophia born c1813. On her marriage certificate Matilda gives birth place as Surrey if that is of help at all. Also know Samuel had died before 1847, so may not even be on 1841 census, children may be with mother as a widow. Thank you in hopeful anticipation.

What census do you have her on in her married name for her place of birth?

There are 2 Matilda Smiths of the same age on that census in Guys,

My mistake. Not on marriage certificate, birth details given to me by contact that sent me marriage certificate. I did find her on 1861 census, possibly said Surrey there.

Matilda Smith born 1826 surrey Happens to be in hospitail aged 15 when 1841 census was done so she would not be at home with her family she is in Guys London

On later census's found 2 Matilda Smith married to 2 William Williams. Know the children for mine so knew which one that way.
Children Matilda 1847, William Arthur 1849, Charles Edward c1850, Rosa Florence Gertrude 1855, Edwin Ernest 1857.

Is there any chance of finding her father samuel on the 1841 census, or sisters Sophia and Caroline please.

Could the hospital ones be an error. I did have another reply saying that both Matildas in hospital were next to each other, possible duplication. For some reason that reply has been deleted.
Had hoped Samuel or the sisters could be found on census. Sophia was born about 1813, as she is on 1851 census with her husband and family.
I am trying to confirm I have correct siblings for my Matilda. Thanks

You have Sophia on 1851,we do not as we dont know who she married etc..
So where does it say she was born?

Is LadyKiras christening of Sophia 1814 her?

The hospital ones may be her ,but there are MANY Matilda Smiths to choose from born about 1826..

Thanks thats certainly a possible as her fathers name is Samuel. Hopefully something more will come up to help confirm either way..

i checked the records its got to be an error same age same name cant be

From previous help Sophia was found married to George Landgridge Williams 24.2.1847. George was William, married to Matilda, father. Georges 2nd marriage so could have been 2nd for Sophia also. (Matilda was witness at Sophias wedding). They had 3 children together, before Sophias death and George appears to have married for a 3rd time. It is from Sophias age on the 1851 census with george that I have her approx age.
If my tree is corrrect, William brother George L Williams jnr, married Caroline , sister of Matilda and Sophia. All seemed unlikely at first to me, but followed George senior on census and seems to fit.

However, am having doubts which is why am trying to confirm all 3 girls are sisters.
On all their marriage records their father is listed as Samuel.
