MIchelle,

Denis RIchard Butler was born in July 1913. He was the youngest of 6 (John C1902, Mary 1904 (my gm), Margaret (C1906) Thomas (1908) Edmund (c1910-1917) Have looked them up in 1911 and cant find them together. Am wondering if something happened to them as there is a john Reid (the son not the father) of the right age living (or at least staying with) relatives, A Mary of the right age in what looks like a childrens home in fulham and a Mary (mother) of the right age working as a servant in a hospital for the poor in the right area. No sign of John though or the other children. Also searched for the address on the birth certificate and there appears to be no listing for it, although there are listings for other houses in the street and I have looked at those. My mum thinks that they may have gone to ireland as both their mothers were Irish and they certainly did go sometimes as my mother went as a little girl. Hmm a puzzle.

Did get the marriage cert of John and Mary though. they married in the Sardinian Chapel on 27.1.1902 and their fathers were Thomas Reid (printer compositor) and Richard Denis Butler,

One more thing - my mum thinks that her grandmother died in the flu epidemic of 1918/19.

Still interested in their parents - what next do you think?

Thanks for the kind words and yes i do think i have the right families and even more now i have those details from the cert!I also now i see John's occupation think this may have been what he was on the 1901.The word was crossed through and hard to read and i saw a Pa and couldn't quite make rest out so thought it was Packer and couldn't read the 2nd word so it could well have been paper hanger!

When you get a moment please could you find Ralph Emery in the 1901 census. He is aged 2 and born in Woburn Bedfordshire. I've spotted him on the index then went to 'find my past' where I still have a few credits but they haven't got Bedfordshire yet!! I want to know his parents and address if possible. Thank you

Hi Michelle, I must first of all apologize for not answering you I have been away and just returned. Thankyou so much for all the hard work you have done on finding the family of Elizabeth Johnson. I see what you mean about the Emery name, I wonder whether she was the illigitimate daughter of Sarah? could be. Elizabeth Johnson married George Malyon on November 5th 1883 and her fathers name is down as William so I presume Frederick is his middle name? she had a son (who was my grandad) called Samuel Thomas Malyon I could find no trace of a Samuel only a Tom and the surname was Malgon not Malyon in the 1901 census, but I know the spelling was not that accurate in those days but I am at a standstill with this one I know he had sisters and brothers. If you could throw any light on this I would be very very grateful. Thanks again Michelle. Regards Beryl.
