SUSAN,
There is not a baptism in St Frideswide, where Fanny Norris said she was living when applying for a bastardy order, nor in Holy Well(St Cross) where she was a servant in 1891. Sorry too many Oxford City parishes to search for the baptism.

Thank you so very much Margaret. I appreciate all your help.

If Thomas and Elizabeth married in 1782 how come they had a Thomas in 1753? Actually my Thomas I've got as born in 1758 and Elizabeth abt 1764 so must be a different couple or could Thomas's parents have had the same name..sorry getting confused. I also managed to pick up a Henry Manning born 1807 Burdrop to a Thomas and Elizabeth.

Thank you again

Debbie

Pls can you have a look for the baptism of William John Wheeler born 1863 in Garsington, Oxfordshire

Margaret

Margaret Report 3 Oct 2011 07:46

LAUREN
sorry baptisms on the Parish Register Transcript disc only go up to 1853
on Ancestry there is a tree with William John Wheeler born 27/12/1862 Garsington son of Richard Wheeler and wife Jane nee Ayres.
William John Wheeler died 1926 leaving a will which you can see on the Ancestry tree.
On the 1881 census William John Wheeler is staying with his grandmother Damaris Wheeler.
William Wheeler married Damaris Holland in sydenham 7/2/1833.
I feel sure that I have researched this family before, and it must be on this thread somewhere.

Hello Margaret

I would be grateful for a check of the Benson P/Rs for the baptism of Elizabeth COSTARD

She married Samuel Clack 19 December 1703 at Dorchester but there is not a baptism there for her (he was born in 1677)

I notice from the Will Index that there are a lot of Costards' (variously spelt) in Benson !

ELIZABETHK
24/4/1680 Eliza daughter of James and Marie Costard. There are more Costards being baptised at this time, but this is the only Eliza or Elizabeth, the others are Marie.
Not much choice sorry.

That is not the one I was looking for but it is one I had not found !!

So thank you for that one.

I will leave Thomas and Eliza for now,I thought they may have married at Buscot as they were there in 1841 but someone has checked the Buscot registers and no luck !

Thank you
