Hi Margaret,
My g-gf was Alexander Greves BONNER b in 1835 in Stoke Lyne, bap in Ardley (19-04-1835). His father, from the marriage cert, was also Alexander Greves Bonner (Carpenter). I cannot seem to find anything about Alexander the elder or his family and I wondered if you could help, even if it points to them not being in Oxfordshire for very long.

Cheers Denise,
Hi Margaret Rose,
I am trying to trace the marraige of my 2x G. grandfather Richard Pinnell Kerry to a Charlotte ??? in Headington in around 1843.
A very kind sole found a record of a Richard Keavy/Keary marrying in 1842 which could be him.
Any chance you could have a sneeky peek and look for me and see what you can find out?
I can find Richard and Charlot on 1851 census, but do not know her maiden name.
Thank you ever so much
Melanie x
Ps He was born in 1823 and his Dad was also Richard!

SUE
James Farmer was baptised in Filkins 30/10/1870 son of Thomas and Ellen Farmer
His parents were not married in Oxfordshire
James Farmer 1870 was not married in Oxfordshire
The two children of James Farmer 1870 on the 1901 census were born in Nottinghamshire, and not brought back to Oxfordshire for baptism.

MELANIE
Sorry couldn't find the marriage of Richard Pinnell Keary to Charlotte, but she gives her place of birth on the 1851 census as Nettlebed. There is only one Charlotte baptised around that time in Nettlebed and it was Charlotte Sarney bapt 12/1/1823 daughter of Robert and Mary Sarney he a coachman
I will start with the parents of Richard P Keary 1823
Richard Pinnell Carry was baptised in Shipton Under Wychwood 18/7/1802 his parents were William and Susannah Carry, Richard 1802 married Mary King 12/5/1819 Cowley St James
they baptised and I am giving the surnames as on the register
Ann Keary bap St James Cowley 15/8/1819 who has illegitimate children Edith bapt 27/7/1837 St James and Herbert bap 9/12/1838 St James living Cowley Marsh.
Mary Keary bapt 4/3/1821 St James Cowley living Temple Cowley
William 19/5/1822 Keary Richard Pinnell Keary 20/4/1823 Mary Anne Kerry bapt 16/5/1824 Mary Anne Keary no day nor month but 1826
John Keary 13/11/1828 his occupation become Higgler marrying Harriet Brown daughter of John Brown 27/4/1848 St James Cowley
Ellen Keary bapt 25/12/1831 Martha Keary bapt 15/1/1833 who had daughter Mary Ann Carey in Cowley Marsh bapt St James Cowley 26/7/1857 Sarah bapt 1/11/1835 St james as are all of them.
RICHARD PINNELL KEARY bapt 20/4/1823 St James Cowley as above married Charlotte maybe Sarney details as above
they had
Charles bapt St James as all of them were 26/3/1843 Charlotte 29/12/1844 buried 15/11/1846 2 yrs old. Ann 14/6/1846 Charles Pinnell or on the census Richard Pinnell they may have changed their minds.... 16/1/1848 All above Keary
now become Carey for a while
William bapt 23/6/1850 son of Charlotte and richard buried 14/8/1851 16 months old.
Now the children become Richard and Sarah's children
George bapt 28/8/1853 William 28/8/1853 Sarah 18/11/1855
Now back to Keary
Francis William 21/6/1857
Charlotte must have died but I cannot find her burial, Richard Pinnell Keary marries Sarah Polley 3/5/1855 St James Cowley he 30 yrs old son of Richard a labourer she 25 yrs old daughter of William Polley a labourer
They had been previously married at the "Registrars Office"
Hope this was of interest.

Margaret, I didn't realise that editing the posts actually deleted them. Many thanks for your efforts. Alexander junior married Matilda Walpole in 1862 in Market Deeping. I suspect that Alexander senior may well have died soon after his son's birth, hence no records, although he is listed on his son's married cert (Alexander Greves Bonner - Carpenter). I have Alexander junior residing with his uncle Richard Bonner (wife Ann) in Fewcott Hamlett (the same as junior's mother's place of origin which suggests his father is either elsewhere (and I cannot find him on any census) or died. Presumably there are not many other records in Fewcott with reference to the Bonners in general? Your efforts greatly appreciated. John.

Sorry not much to report but
George aged 31 yrs a farmer of Stoke Lyne son of William a farmer married Harriett Cave a spinster of Bodicote daughter of George a road surveyor 4/6/1844 Bodicote witnesses George Cave, Mary Rogers.by License
George eventually moved to Evenley Northants.
There is a death in Brackley Northants of
William Rogers aged 82 yrs ref Brackley 3b 8... 2Q 1869 perhaps this could be your William Rogers. If you cannot get any further the spending of £7 may do the trick.

Margaret A bit of a long shot but you could you have a look for Thomas Chadbone, born c1808 either Enstone or Fulwell. He moved to Worminghall at some point and married a Susan Ray in 1826. Thanks in advance Phil ps Chadbone is sometimes also listed as Chadbon

Thank you very much Margaret Rose - you are a Star!
However I am now somewhat confused.
My great grandad was Ivo Kerry son of a William Francis Kerry and Alice Ann Hall.
I new Richard Kerry had two sons called william, but not about the Francis William in 1857.
I thought my William was the 1853 one and that his Mum was Charlotte, now I am not so sure - could Sarah have had kids in the Kerry name before she got married to Richard in 1855?? I thought they had to be married or the kids would be given the mothers name i.e. Polley??
Now I am not sure which William it is that is my direct descendent.
Is there any way to check??
I can find a Francis William in 1881 census, but the whole family disappear by 1901.
My question is therefore, can you check that either of the two, William or Francis William, married Alice Ann Hall and whether they had a son Ivo in 1893?? - born in Headington.
Thank you in advance for all your hard work,
Melanie x
ps. Just for reference, the names on Ivo's birth cert are just William Kerry and Alice Kerry - no mention of the Francis. But I did find a marraige between William Francis and Alice Hall in 1876!
