I am looking for anyone who knew or knows about my Grandfather who i have never met, his name was Luigi Lucchesi as i am his grand-daughter. My fathers name was Rudolpho Lucchesi annd born in 1921 and died in 1989. I have been told by my half-brother my father use to go to dartford in kent once a year. I would be very grateful if anyone could help me. Marie Titley (Lucchesi).

I don't see a birth registration for your father. For info, his death is registered as Tony Rudolpho Lucchesi.

- EDIT - that is the correct marriage; Marie's father's surname is misspelt in the index at FreeBMD as Succhesi, finally found it (and DOB is wrong in death registration)

If it is his ancestors, we could help trace them possibly, depending on how long the family was in England.

If it is personal info, you would just have to hope that someday, someone does an internet search for his name.

He might be the closed record in 1939. (Wife to be Iris was with her parents in Birmingham)

Presumably Marie knows all about her parents' marriage, for instance.


Luigi Sr and Edith had children in 1916, 1918, 1920, 1921 (Marie's father), 1922, 1928 and 1930. All seem to have been living in 1939. (Well except that their oldest and youngest daughters were both named Edith so it seems the older one died, but I see no deaths in the index.)

Marie, if you don't know about your father's family, search at FreeBMD for the births of his siblings by searching for births, surname Lucchesi, mother's surname Barrett.

Marie said her father used to go to Dartford once a year, so presumably it was his mother and brother (and maybe other siblings) he was visiting. (Marie's father was in Birmingham)

Ancient relatives grew up in the general area. Next time we see them we can ask if they have any relevant memories. They might have lived just 'out of area' to have come across each other.
