To me it's looks like Sandra made up names when she first registerd the birth maybe as a cover up,

Her mum seems to have taken things in hand and made the declaration with Sandra to correct the birth entry with the right info

It looks too way out to be a simple registration error on the part of the registrar

Mmn Willis has no cross ref to family it seems

She used her mmn as hers ie Cook then made up the fathers name and said she was nee Willis Especially as you say the corrections that were done done later deletied the name Willis and fathers name

I see on the revised entry there is a small s against the page nos .this usually indicates an adoption . Were you adopted ?? If so have you accessed your adoption file

I was thinking exactly the same as Shirley. Your mother wouldn't have had to provide any evidence that she was married so the registrar would have taken anything she said at face value.

The records were probably amended before your presumed adoption as if there WAS a real father named on the birth certificate I assume he would have had to agree to the adoption so it would have been better to tell the truth and have the certificate amended.

Again. like Shirley, no wish to offend, just giving an opinion.

When was the certificate you have issued-dated.?

January 12th 1967. Birth date 30/11/66 xx

So not a much later issue with all the alterations,

I think all this must have come to light later when adoption forms were required to be filled in.

Just to be sure she didnt marry in Scotland in either surname,,,,,,if over 21 she could have married in Ireland or I-o-Man to which there isnt any on-line indexes to check.

Have you any paperwork for file of adoption.?or did you remain with Mum>?

Perhaps extened family may have knowledge of what actually occured.
