Thank you ArgyllGran for finding more information on John Horwood, my father was one of the crew killed on the same Lancaster. So far found 4 families of the crew so would much like to find them all. By the way the web site W4960 was done for me by a very kind Dutchman. I will look on Ancestry in the trees. Like you waiting for the 2021 census to come out, just hope I am still around. Many, thanks once again , you have given me information I didn't know |

Looks like the Elizabeth Rebecca of Livingstone Street could be a relative. |

The crews remains were reburied in Jonkerbos War Cemetery Nijmegen in 1953 . Went out there 2 weeks ago and found a note on the grave of Jack Heath next to my Dads and after returning to England posted on here and overjoyed with help that his family contacted me last weekend, so hopefully I will get the same results, from John Horwoods family. If you look on w4960 you will see a face to his name |

Hello ArgyllGran. Many thanks for the additional info. I have just been on Ancestry and sent a message to someone on the Horwwod tree but I have a funny feeling that John was an only child so maybe too remove from the family for anyone to be interested in my information. Just have to wait and see. |

Alice would have no children with James Fury, as she was 56 when they married. |

Thanks for looking up Johns birth, I did wonder if he was illegitimate. I don't suppose he had siblings seeing the age his mother married. Appreciate your help ArgyllGran |

Looking through all the info you sent Alice Fury nee Horwood died age 56 but in 1943 her and James Fury were stated on Johns Horwoods records so they must have got married before 1943. |

He was described as "son and brother" here (but could it be stepbrother?): |

The birth records for Australia on Ancestry don't show births later than 1922, unfortunately. |

Hi ArgyllGran. I have found a marriage for Betty Fury in Townsville only daughter to Mr & Mrs J Fury, Cook Street Townsville 15th Oct 1948 to a Henry Jones. So Betty was the half sister of John. Will try and find a death for Alice Fury in any Townsville newspapers to see if it states an address as Cook Street |
