Thanks Ann :-D
There are so many lovely pics on the blog.Your garden is looking so colourful ,and I love Maryanna's sweet little Hedgehog.Little Luke looked like he was having a wonderful time at his party :-D :-D.He is gorgeous.

We have had quite a breeze this afternoon and it has been really nice. Not looking forward to the temperature on Thursday ,high 20's and humid. We are going to something called Art in Action at somewhere called Waterperry Nr Wheatley( I think) Oxfordshire. It looks the kind of thing you might like Ann with all sorts of exhibitions and demonstrations.Arts and Crafts.I shall be looking out my coolest clothes and taking my hand fan with me lol.All those hot sweaty Marquees !!!!!

Just got back from Wiltshire and about to dash out again to a committee meeting but thought I'd just tell you about a great experience we had in Bath.

We were walking by a quiet stretch of the river when we came across three people with telescopes trained upwards. They told us they were watching peregrine falcons at the top of the church opposite. They told us this pair had nested at the church every year since 2007 and invited us to take a look. It was amazing - I was watching the female and the focus was so good that it was as though she was there in front of me. What a beautiful bird though that beak looked quite scary. Saw plenty of ducklings, cygnets and moorhens but nothing could compare with a close up view of the falcon. It made my day

Ann :-) I tried to reply on the blog to Just Jean and you but I need to set up an account to do it.I am hopeless a these things and will have to get OH or son to help me with that .
But thank you Jean and Ann for those lovely comments about OH's painting <3

Von ,yes it is a water colour. He only does watercolour.I know that secretly he is very pleased with this one :-D.I am still working on him getting it framed.

I have just put some drinks in the fridge for tomorrow and got my fan in my handbag lol
We went to Hatfield a few weeks ago to another Art and Craft Fair and spent a good bit there,so I am expecting to do the same again tomorrow :-D :-D.OH always says "don't spend just for the sake of it" ..but he does his fair share too LOL

Jane I have posted your comment for you. Not many people manage to be able to comment on there and we have never worked out why. Same on the photo blog. :-)

Jane Report 16 Jul 2014 17:13

Thanks Ann :-D.I didn't want to appear rude by not replying.

We have a lovely breeze here this afternoon ,but there seem to be a fair number of iffy looking clouds up there now.The garden will be very happy to have a drop of the wet stuff.Everything is parched :-S

Jane Report 17 Jul 2014 17:46

Afternoon everyone from a very hot and weary me lol.I took us 2 hours to get to Waterperry and got there at 10.We were parked in row 60 !!!! in the second field.
The exhibitions were fantastic. Some wonderful things, but my goodness so expensive .Needless to say we didn't part with £5,000 for a painting lol(that was the most expensive thing I saw). After 3 hours or so the heat just became too much and we decided to call it a day.We got around all the Marquees and saw a couple of demonstrations and had some lunch but didn't go to any talks which were in the house.I would certainly have wilted completely in there.
OH bought some art materials and I bought absolutely zilch .Oh ,I lie.I bought some rustic bread lol
Just as we arrived there ,there were 8 Red Kites circling quite low over head :-D

I have now had a cool shower and am sitting nose to nose with the big fan.

Sounds as though you had a good day Jane, even if you did get a bit overheated.

I've just been outside watering all our pots and our resident frog made me jump out of my skin.................again! I ought to be used to it by now but he/she is never in the same pot two days running and just as I bend over to water or deadhead, out he leaps.

Still I'm pleased these little creatures are finding us as this little garden seemed so "dead" when we first moved here.

AnninGlos Report 17 Jul 2014 20:38

Vera my oh jumps when frogs leap out at him.

Jane sounds like a good but hot day. Can't think why you didn't raid the petty cash for that painting. Last friday on the way to Hampshire not far from Newbury we saw three very large red kites just above the car.

Jane Report 17 Jul 2014 20:47

He/she is just popping up to say hello to you Vera :-D :-D.
I have just seen the biggest Beetle :-S.Now that gives me the heebie jeebies .It is a whopper :-S
It feels much cooler out side now ,but house is like an oven :-S.It was a lovely few hours at the Art Fair, but just too hot.
I think we are both ready to fall into bed now.Trouble is it will be too hot there ( but not in the raunchy sense ;-) ) I can see me moving into the spare bed at some point in the night .

AnninGlos Report 19 Jul 2014 17:10

Not many birds feeding here lately. Mainly sparrows but plenty of them. :-)

Jane

Jane Report 19 Jul 2014 17:25

Yes that's it exactly Ann.I haven't seen fisty cuffs like this for a while.(Maybe the heat is getting to them all lol)I know the feeling :-S

Jane

Jane Report 21 Jul 2014 18:57

Well other than all the thunder ,lightening and rain on Thursday ,we have not seen any more storms or rain.It just seems to have skirted around us here.
The garden is desperate for a drink,so the hose pipe will be out this evening.

Kandj says Hello and thanks again for continuing to think of her and her OH.She hardly has a minute to herself and doesn't get chance sometimes to turn on her computer, but when she does she has a quick look on the thread.Lots of love Kandj <3

I see the temperature is going to soar again towards the end of the week :-S.
On Friday I am going to London to my daughters(I apologise if I have already said this)
She is taking me to see a show called Limbo on the Southbank and a meal somewhere .This is her Birthday Present for me :-D..But if it is 30 degrees oh boy it will be hot.I must check if she has an electric fan in her bedroom(as I have to share her bed :-S :-S)and her room is on the 2nd floor.I will be sure to need one and have a small electric one that I will stick in my little case lol......I snore too sometimes, and the last time I stayed with her she said it was the worst nights sleep she had ever had lol

Jane Report 23 Jul 2014 19:14

I saw a Red Kite today and it looked like it had a big gap in the feathers on one wing :-S.But it was still flying ok.It looked quite a small bird ,so I wonder if it was a young one.
I took a pic of it but haven't had a look yet to see if it was good enough to see the gap.

I hope everyone is coping with this heat..They reckon the heatwave will go on and on :-S

Maryanna

Maryanna Report 24 Jul 2014 10:56

Sure is hot Jane, another day on the beach I fear ;-)

Last night, when we were coming home after a BBQ at our eldest son and his wife's I was aware of a commotion at the side of the road ahead. As we got close I could see two big crows swooping down, feet first with their wings flapping.

As we got to the spot I could see that they were having a go at a rabbit !!! Quite a big one who was sitting up on its haunches and not seeming to be taking any notice of the birds. Not too sure what was going in or what he had done to annoy them. Most odd.

Eldest son is off at the weekend on a Survival course in Norway, kayaking, living off the land, sleeping in hammocks, fishing with spears...........

Good luck to him, last time one of the mates he is going with went away on a trip he got thrown out if his canoe on some rapids and spent a week marooned on an island surrounded by crocodiles until he could be rescued by helicopter.

They are either going to have a whale of a time or come back very hungry, better get the larder stocked up for when he gets back. He eats like a horse at the best of times, glad I don't have to feed him all the time any more.

They are thinking of moving again, that will be youngest son, who moved to another flat in London, a couple of months ago, daughter and son in law have found a house they like a mile or so away and have put in an offer and eldest son moving. So many crossings out in my address book, I am going to have to get a new one.

M. :-)

Lucky you Maryanna, a day on the beach would be lovely. I remember when I was a young teenager it seems (in my memory) that every day was spent on or near the beach where we'd cycle about 4/5 miles to get there.

Strange behaviour from those crows unless the rabbit had piched some of their carrion.
