Hi Vera I have read The Secret Life of Vera Atkins, infact I have read alot about her, I find her so interesting .....she intirgues me and found her quite a complex woman who never gave too much away about her private life......A very clever woman.......

I have been very interested in her and how the SOE worked through the war......

Another book I would recommend on the subject is

Finished reading In Search of Martha Brown,
good read and interesting how little is known of her life
even though research has been done over the years.
As I also get frustrated when researching my own ancestors
I feel we will never get to know Martha's whole story.

I'll look out for that other Vera Atkins book. She's certainly a complex, interesting character though I'm not sure whether I like her much.

I am reading The Bed that I made. £1.54 on kindle, a surprisingly good read.

Thank you Choccy, I am pretty sure I read it some time many years back. I have several paperbacks in that series but not that one so I have downloaded it to re-read. I loved all that series.

I have already read that one Choccy but thanks for letting us know......Im now onto the one Ann mentioned for GReaders........

I have just finished The Legacy by Katherine Webb. What a great book. From New York high society to a ranch among Indians in the early 20th century, and then to England following the same family and Great Grandchildren trying to solve the mystery of what happened to a 20th century family baby, whose was ge and where did he go. A great read and well reccommended. :-D

Ann I have read the Legacy and I adored it, literally did not want the book to end......I keep looking to see when her next book will be out....

Death Cart by Susan Parry.

Set in and around the Yorkshire Dales, the main characters are either students or lecturers involved with a Uni Archaeology course.

2nd year student Vrishti is murdered, then a Course Tutor dies in a hit and run accident, swiftly followed by the murder of one of Vrishti’s house mates. Millie, with whom they house shared decides to investigate the ‘who and why’ with the help of her friends.

Although Millie’s character irritated me with her occasional over emotional responses, most of the students are in their early 20’s, which makes it more understandable. Not quite an adult, but neither was she a child.

The ‘Death Cart’ refers to a stone age burial site which the students were excavating.

This is book is part of The Yorkshire Dales Mystery Series and downloaded when it was free. With some £££ left from a gift voucher, I'm contemplating buying the next in the series. :-D
