Yes it was a good break. Frustrating though, on the way home I wanted to find Cadbury's garden Centre which Jan (Scatty) had told me about because it also has a craft shop. Well we got off the M5 at the right junction and followed the road for what seemed like ages, then gave up as it was getting late so we went back to a farm shop we'd seen and had coffee in their cafe. When we got home we looked it up on the map and we must have been 100 yards of the turning which was round the next bend. So we have to go back and find it another time.

Aren't those quilts beautiful, what patience to quilt and embroider the wedding one - I think that is my favourite. What a lucky son and daughter in law I hope they treasure it for many years, it is an heirloom.

Jean, sorry to take so long answering had to go and get gr/son from school as he was unwell. Yes I am still making cards but I keep forgetting to take photos of them , will try and send some to Ann soon.
I have actually taken my christmas stash out of the cupboard to sort out in readiness to begin my christmas cards.

It would be lovely to have a family heirloom like those quilts they are really something to be proud of.

Son1 and daughter were so excited when I gave them the quilt.
I took it to Arizona on the plane to keep my eye on it so it didnt get stolen.
The week before the wedding they opened it up and laid it out on the big bed, I saw she had tears in her eyes.

On the day they got engaged I decided to make them a quilt. and I finished it just a month before the wedding. so it took me 11 months to make, from designing to quilting. that was 2008.
It is lined with 2 layers of wadding, one of cotton, and the other of poly. They live in freezing weather in Maine, and they say it keeps them so warm even on the coldest nights.
Only trouble it has to be steam cleaned to keep the pleats in shape.

Oh hello
Son1 and his wife were married in Prescott Arizona. in their summer, up in a forest where it is 12 degrees cooler than in Phoenix where her parents live.
The reason they now live in Maine usa is she building up a primary health care clinic there.
there are only about 14 of the 50 states of america where naturopath practitioners can legally register and set up business.

Jude you really stay up late, or is the sun still high in the sky for summer?

Moonbi...just looked at the quilts, they are gorgeous, you are very talented:o)

The reason its late is because l can't sleep, l have these sessions every now and then, very frustrating. l usually come downstairs have a cuppa and something to eat andplay on here:o)

Take care
