Evening all...... Ann, you are so right..... no nipping in quickly.... just spent another small fortune in Hobbycraft.... on things I just had to have but not a clue how to use them... ink pens, and stamps... very nice they are, too... but I like 3D type stuff, so will have to learn how to do that with them.... I wanted a template for those bracket embellishments... you see them all the time in the magazines.. I have tried to draw them free hand, but I am useless.... couldn't even draw an arrow for the Valentine card so left it out!

And you know what happens when you wander up and down aisles looking for things... well, as Ann has already said, your basket magically gets filled up! I even had an item in there that I already have and don't quite know how to use, lol (for stamping) but looks slightly different because it is a different manufacturer... now how daft is that? I did put it back, but reluctantly....

I bought a book called Scrapbooking for Dummies... that'll do me... and two magazines.. including Scrapbook Magazine, so lots of reading matter. ;¬))

This is all very addictive, isn't it?

Maybe we could arrange a GR scrappers meet, and bring along our spare stuff for swapsies, lol

Love

Daff xxxx

Daff i dont know why you got scrapbooking for dummies, looking at your pages, I think I would benefit from it, ....lol....by 3D do you mean decopage
if so you can get 3d die cuts know as "no scissors 3D" you just pop them out numbered so its easy.I buy them off e-bay....also you can get envelopes that expand, but the cards need to be passed at the post office...but they are lovely when they are done....btw, Replied to mail...

Daff, if you want a 3D affect using a stamped image, stamp it more than once. When you cut the image out cut one slightly larger than the other, then assuming you have say three images, Use the largest one as the base, then using sticky pads stick a slightly smaller one on top, then cut out parts of the third image and stick them on top again. It will give a 3D affect. But maybe that was not what you wanted to know?

Wowie, a scrap swop would be great wouldn't it?

Hi everyone..

Ann...I so agree lol. There is no cafe at my local craft shop it just happens that the owner enjoys a chat over a cuppa with her regulars.

I called in Al** first thing and I bought a Creative Cutter! I haven't had time for a play yet however the kit is well made. I chose the wavey line cutter and the kit also comprises of circle and oval templates plus a fold away mat. I also bought the card making book which has some lovely ideas...I have not yet strayed into making cards as yet!

I have been looking for some dark red fabric flowers for a vintage page I have in mind...well....I was in the chemists today and I saw a pony tail bobble with a large dark red flower attached which I bought on the off chance. I have taken it to pieces tonight and I now have six flowers...just perfect for my page together with the bling brads I bought yesterday. I am so pleased!!

Linda I had a pack of dark red and black fabric flowers, think they came from Hobbycraft.

Daff, the size envelope you need for A4 folded in half is C5, I checked in T***o this morning.

A good source for fabric flowers is dunelm mills. In amongst the silk flowers they sell geberas for about 40p each that can be broken down into lots of different size pieces and they also do other smaller flowers that come as a bunch on one stem (if you get what I mean) they are under £1 a stem and again you get lots.
If anyone wants a couple to play with send me a message and I'll pop some in an envelope for you, I went a bit mad in there some time back and now I think the things are breeding in their container LOL

Linda, I stripped some silk roses I had in a vase in our bedroom for the page I did of my granddaughter in her Christmas party dress... I added glitter (well, I would, wouldn't I? lolol) and used the same glitter to paint some plain brads... and they were perfect! Amazing what you can adapt when you put your mind to it, isn't it?

Sarah, that means I shall have to go and visit Dunelm again *sigh*... hubby will be pleased, lol I wonder if he would fall for the *they seem to be multiplying all on their own* line, lolol

I love flowers and glitter... I love embellishments that stand away from the page a little bit... yes, I think decoupage would be just my thing... I do like the mess and satisfaction of making my own, as well....

Ann I think I have those black and red flowers, too... I didn't use them on the Valentine card, so shall have to find a project to use them up....lol Thank you for the envelope size... that'll help next time I go and play in the aisles, lol

I have had a very lazy day today, and just spent the day reading and learning, and cooking dinner for the weekend, lol.... maybe I shall do some more pages then.

Jean, I have sent you the third page, lol... and thank you for your comments, you are very kind to me, lolol....

Well, must go and stir the spagh bol...... take care

Love

Right Sarah, your fault. Went to Dunelm today and bought three gerberas. Not broken them down yet because they look nice in with my other artificial flowers in the lounge (mostly big poppies). Thought they would be safer there anyway, wont get crushed. Also bought a pack of flowers in browns, oranges and shades of pink, and some clear stamps, fairies and dragons!, sparkly button type things,, black and gold sticky ribbons, reel of gold ribbon, and... and.. and...

Then we also bought boring household things like a bathroom blind (already fitted would you believe?), tea towels, oven gloves, kitchen floor mop, towel.
Nice cafe there so we had a coffee and shared a toasted tea cake.

Hi Everyone,

Ann, it looks as though you enjoyed yourself in Dunhelm, it's lovely to be able to get what you need. The Dunhelm we have in town hasn't got a cafe, like the one in Nottingham. I tend to use the one here, unless I can't get what I want there, then I have to go to the Nottingham one, as it is much bigger and carries more stock.

Dizzi, as Ann and Jean said, you know when it's right, although sometimes it takes a little while to realise what's wrong with the page. Keep on trying and it will suddenly come to you, I'm sure. Good luck.

Linda, that's a good idea using a pony tail bobble. Did it come apart easily?

Love, Sallie.xx
