Thanks, Ann and Ninja Lady.... I think I need to get some brads as well, then ;¬)) Just in case!!

Lol Ann... I worked with children for about 10 or 11 years... and adults with a learning difficulty for a few more years after that, craftwork for us was all about experimenting and using what was at hand. I loved textured stuff and collages... I more or less ended up with responsibility for what seemed like miles of *display* space... all down the corridors of all the after school areas (I worked in a residential school for 6 years) and behind our area of the dining room... we had great fun, most of the time... dreaded looking at my stuff, as I seemed to end up with more glue/paint etc than the children.... although I do think there was a conspiracy going on amongst the little darlings, lolol Lots of giggling if I turned my back!

I have really missed that side of the job... there were other bits that were emotionally and physically draining... but my littlie has inherited Granny's love of glue, paint and all things mucky, lol So more joys ahead, methinks. ;¬))

I have left it all morning... just gone to have a peek now, and I do love it.... hope I don't spoil it!!

I have a cutter thingy like a slidey guillotine (I know, not very good with technical terms, am I?) and the cutting bit has other attachments that will do wavy straight cuts (like for borders) but......... I have mislaid the destructions for changing the blade, and I can't see how to get the original off at all.... I'll have another bash in a mo... I can see only one place it could come off... maybe as my hands are a little more co-operative today I'll manage it.

Good luck later on, Ann.

Love

Daff - if you have embellishments like butterflies all over the place (sounds gorgeous!!) then you could secure the ribbon with tape underneath a butterfly - that will save having to buy more stuff if you don't need to.

Think I must be seriously ill - went to the Range and only came out with sandpaper!!!

CherryBlossom Report 10 Sep 2009 16:25

Sorry!!!!!!! Had my sensible financial head on for while - doesn't happen often and takes me by surprise when it does! I really must be sickening for something........

Okay Daff - knock yourself out with brads!! Saw some cute butterfly ones in our local craft shop the other week. I didn't succumb as I don't have any pretty pages to do but did think hard about getting them for a friend's Christmas stocking!

AnninGlos Report 10 Sep 2009 21:36

Na na !!!! I have got some little butterfly brads, and dragonflies, all pretty pastel shades, I think my daughter gave them to me for Christmas.

CherryBlossom

CherryBlossom Report 11 Sep 2009 08:16

Oooh, dragonflies!!! My friend would like those as well!! I've been buying up the pearly brads recently in pastel pink/plum/pearl shades to use on my gran's mini pages for the box album.

Grandson went back to his parents last night so, having excelled myself yesterday and got ahead of myself with the household chores, I'm determined that tomorrow I will shut myself away in the craft room and have some 'me' time.

I am back from the plumbers.... and deserve a special treat, so I am going to have a big fat English breakfast with all the trimmings out.... and then off to find some more ribbon and brads, lolol Cos I'm worth it, lol (flicks hair back dramatically) lol

See you all later.

Hi Jean

Well the best laid plans of mice and men - and all that. I had every intention of scrapping yesterday but then 16 year old son (whose birthday it was yesterday) decided he would have a 'Sweet Sixteen' party and invited a load of his mates over so spent most of the day shopping and cooking hotdogs and burgers!! Still, he had a good time and that's all that matters.

I'm hoping to get an hour today but then we've got the family over for a roast dinner this afternoon. When I get some time during the week Jean I'll photograph the mini pages I've been doing of my Gran's photos and email them across to you.

Have fun everyone!

It is a beautiful day here today... and I think I might get those pages finished, lol.... I have almost finished cutting out all those butterflies and flowers... bought some beautiful brads, buttons and ribbon... although the ribbon isn't quite right... might keep that for another page, another book, even!! I bought some black card, and blue gingham ribbon.. that is for my older granddaughter's first day at school page, which I am keeping very simple.

wmsl at Ann... you know me too well, lol.... I have bought more bits... and have a lovely long Christmas list for R!

Right brekkie first... then glue and ribbon ;¬))

Glad you are getting there Daff, I am busy taking photos so will be on the seaside theme when I go home, although I am supposed to be starting Christmas cards. I have taken close ups of pebbles and close up of Jurassic cliffs, haven't seen any dinosaurs lol!! Only a few old fossils eating ice cream and fish and chips, the kids go back to school and we 'oldies' come out to play Lol Lol!!!!

Another one here who hasn't been doing much crafting. But between feeling under the weather and OH changing plans I haven't had the time. I did start to make christmas cards this afternoon, I managed 2. Am really tempted to just give in and buy the bulk of them.

AnninGlos Report 14 Sep 2009 18:25

Obviously with Sallie and I away and Daff gardening, nobody to keep this going so will just give it a nudge. found myself taking close ups of pebbles at Lyme Regis today and photos of The Cobb. Future pages do you think?

SarahSalopianScrapper

SarahSalopianScrapper Report 16 Sep 2009 12:56

Could be future pages Ann, I've found myself taking some quite strange photos to scrap in the past my series of gravestone carvings for instance.

I've actually got myself crafting again, I've not made any more of the christmas cards but I have made some ATCs that I'd promised for swaps which is a start.
And I've got my crop on sunday so should get some scrapping done then

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 18 Sep 2009 17:47

Sarah, enjoy your crop on Sunday, I am looking forward to getting home and starting again. One thing I have bought this week is a flower die cut nestability, looking forward to trying that out, it had better be good as it wasnot cheap. One thing I am going to do though is start on my Christmas cards.

Obviously nobody is interested in the thread or is not crafting while I am away.

CherryBlossom Report 18 Sep 2009 18:33

Panic ye not Ann, its not that I'm not interested but have just been elected Treasurer of my patchwork group and after a disastrous last year with the previous Treasurer completely mucking things up I've had a few fraught days trying to sort out the mess.

I'm hoping to get some crafting time in over the weekend.

Dee, you would have loved a little shop I was in yesterday, it was 99% devoted to quilting, all the beautiful materials you could imagine plus everything else I imagine a quilter needs. There were a few craft bits though and I bought two small punches, a bell and a star reduced to £1 each.
