Did you have a good time Jane? I know you said you resorted to Suffolk because of the journey to Dorset, was it as nice. It is years since we were in Suffolk |

It was lovely Ann,but I have to say our cottage was so tiny.It was built in 1480 as a farm labourer's home.Way out in the sticks.A bit too far in the sticks for us really ,but the wildlife and the peace was just wonderful. Most of my photos were of birds .We had a rowing boat we could have used at the bottom of the garden on the Deben river .But there was a Swan with attitude so we didn't risk it lol. There was a wrens nest ,and I saw the babies ,I think on their first outing ,but sadly got no photo was in focus.Lovely photo of the swan though ,my favourite one from the whole holiday. |

I don't believe it lol.The Red Kite was just about 20ft above me .I thought it was after the dog!!!!.(I'm sure it wasn't) and my camera was in on the dining table.By the time I dashed in to get it ,it was gone . |

There were a couple of moorhens on the garden today celebrating midsummer solstice. I noticed as I was about to whizz into the shower so no time to attempt photo, but it was their private little moment after all. |

Now that I've finished working - again - I had a lovely time sitting out on our new balcony furniture watching the birds yesterday. There was plenty of activity on the feeder and perhaps because I was up on the balcony instead of on the patio it didn't seem to slow down. |

Jude it was longer than 3 months that the niger was untouched on our feeder. We were just about to give up when we saw one goldfinch so we left it and it remained apparently untouched again. But now we have regular visitors and the numbers are rising. Now we are seeing a greenfinch family and they are using it too, so are the chaffinches occasionally though they prefer some of the other offerings its seems. |
