I'm off to work, not much extra snow and not quite as cold this afternoon, sun's out. having a family reunion of sorts here tomorrow, me, my 3 adult kids, 4 grandchildren, my brother and wife, their 2 kids and spouses, and 3 grandkids. Quite a houseful, but hopefully all will be well. |

Hi Betty, how lovely to see you on the thread. I told 'em you'd be here but thought you would be John!! but who cares, you're here. First of all,.congrats on being brave and coming on, we are all very understanding on here of any type of mental illness and we do not judge people on here. You've had more than your fair share of bad luck and this time of the year ain't a good one for you obviously. Hopefully by talking to us lot - who are all slightly off the wall may I say, you'll feel a lot better and find it easier to talk. With regard to your G.P. all I can say is - change him - you do not have to have a reason to change, he sounds a most unhelpful and uncaring GP. Telling you to get on with it!!! Who the hell does he think he is? You need an understanding GP who will listen to your story and then give you something that will help you through it, hopefully short term, but if it's long term, so let it be. I have to take my anti-depressants for the rest of my life, as do many of us on this thread - if the GP says it's fine, then there's nothing to worry about. Now make changing your GP your priority - Saturday tomorrow, so not much good, so go Monday if you can and register in a new practice. Do come back and let us know how you get on and plese post whenever you feel like it, even if it's just to say hello - nearly always someone about on this thread!. Lots of love, Ann XX |

Dear Betty, you are no way butting in you are most welcome here. Everyone here has some problems, we are all feeling a little comfort here and I hope you will feel happy to join in as well. I am so sorry to hear all your sadness. My daughter is 25 and my son 23. Daughter had food allergies and son had severe speech problem and dyspraxia, so no stranger to kids with problems. It makes you feel quite isolated don't you find? Ann is a lovely lady, with kind words for all. But she isn't the only one here there are lots!! xx |
