As many of you know I have posted many many articles from the foreign press - information that has not been for whatever reason published in the UK. I have been lambasted although I have never published my opinion - just provided what has been published elsewhere.
Many people have PMd me with their opinions and views as they have not felt able to publish them on the general board as early on , anyone who dared criticise the McCanns in any way were attacked and accused of being uncaring towards that child.

Again, at the moment there is much information out there that is not being passed on by the UK Press.
I will give my opinion now - I believe that given the high profile of these parents and the whole case, the Portuguese Police must know a lot more that is currently being revealed in order to make the Parents Aguidas .
That child desereves justice.

Needless to say, let's hope Maddies killer or killers, are bought to justice soon.

What bothers me is why (other than why they left the babies alone) did they wash cuddle cat....it had Maddie's smell on it, and no matter how dirty it was, it had her smell...I would have needed that!!! But I pass no judgement on anyone..just curious!!

I am someone that isn't satisfied with stories that make no sense - always makes me want to find out more !!!

Though I can't say I am 100% wiser for sure. The Portugese press have yet to be way off the mark. They certainly have made more sense than our press has. I STILL hope that there will be a happy ending to this story. But it's looking more and more grim by the minute xx

Glad to see you. I am of the same mind about posting. Like you most of my communication is via pm. Not necessarily because I fear reprisal but simply because I do not wish to offend anyone.

I will put general observations on the boards but I was countered today about declaring that the Britsh Press was some weeks behind the European Press. Sadly that was a fact and is incontravertible.

Now that they have 'been released' and cannot draw back from reporting what is in the media the topic may be more acceptable as a discussion thread.

Thank you for posting this Kris - my friend and I were discussing exactly the same notion this morning.

I am still fence sitting - like everyone one else I am not in possession of the full facts, neither do I belong to either the pro or anti McCann lobby. What does concern me is that a small child has disappeared and there are still questions to be answered as to how and why.

Sadly Jay, there appears to have been an active campaign by the UK press to virtually cannonise the McCanns - the fact that 3 toddlers were left alone in the first place seems to have been of no consequence to the UK media

That's the most bizarre aspect of the whole thing Kris to my mind.

It's never right to leave kids alone for that length of time. Whoever says otherwise must be either warped or deluded.

Especially as there is a report of one of the kids having cried for one and three quarter hours just days before the *disappearance* occured.

Makes me sick it really does. Everybody does not do it. It's an insult to suggest that they do.xx

8 children Kris - the dinner group had 8 children, of whom Madeleine was the eldest. One set of parents had a baby monitor/baby phone. There was also a grandmother with them, making the ninth diner.
As my partner and myself have no children, I have not passed judgement on this, only commented that we have seen this happen quite a lot on holidays. Sadly, usually it has been English parents.

Yes Kris, but don't you think the tide is turning? Reading the recent reports, it seems they are on the back foot. Again I stress I have an open mind to the situation, but so many unanswered questions pop into my head. I too, only care about the welfare of Maddie, everyone else is big enough to look out for themselves.

I wonder how people feel (ie pensioners and small children who donated their pocket money to the "Maddie Fund") now feel about that money being used to pay for the McCanns lawyers. :-(

The answer to that is found on my petition post about freezing the fund. Some people who have donated are fuming that their money is being considered for use in hiring defence lawyers.
