Hi Baz and other Essex Folk' I moved to Essex from Leicester in 1947 and apart from a short time in Cheshire have lived in Chelmsford ever since. I feel I know more about Essex than any where else. I get so irritated with people who dismiss the county as flat and boring. There are so many beautiful places. Rosemary

Hi, Baz and all Essex folk, To judge by various parental comments, I was conceived in Margaretting, then was born in West Ham, grew up in Dagenham, took 'mental health' days away from school in Abridge, Hainault and the Rodings, and my children were all born in Romford. Does this count? Despite living across the Atlantic and in a lovely town, I look very fondly back on those days, and the many lovely pubs in rural Essex. Michael (in Dundas)

Hi Baz: hope all is well with you and your mum is still improving. I am not an Essex lad but a large part of my heart is in Earl's Colne which is the place that my lovely daughter lives. CHEERS Ernest
