Hi All, I must be the` daddy of them all`. I was born in Bow, East London 86 years ago and have lived in Ongar, Essex for the last 20 years. Pleased to see so many Essex people on here today. Len.

Oh, Bri, to have the blessing of a senior male relation, and such a metaphor-laden blessing, I think that's all I was waiting for! Be it all on your head now.

(My mum, also your cuz-in-law, says the same. Her mum, no relation to you, said "Men are like trolley cars; there's always another one coming along.")

Right. Off to refrigerate some batter. For the No. 1 who is making not the slightest weensiest minutest bit of an effort, despite all attempts to re-educate.

Have the fat/oil nice and hot in the pan Kathryn, leave the mix to stand in the fridge for a bit before pouring into pan, should be fine lol

I know, decisions, decisions, if 'it' is meant to be it will all work out ok. Shame No 1 isn't making an effort, sounds as tho he has long forgotten how, so maybe you have to be cruel to be kind and give him a shove onto a new path...

You be careful tho,
I am off to bed now, if I snore loudly enough o.h. will get fed up and get up and I can have the bed to myself, after all he has been there alone since before midnight, and snoring to himself. My turn now lol
Night.

So then cuz-in-law -- shall I ditch the ex rock guitarist I've been supporting for the last several years who no longer falls even when pushed hard, and run away to see the blues guitarist in Arizona who has fallen madly and hopelessly and completely for me?

He thinks so. Well, he thinks we should at least spend a long weekend in the desert contemplating it. ;)

But sigh, for now, I go off to do my domestic duties and make Yorkshire pudding. Maybe it will work this time. I used to be able to make Yorkshire pudding ...

Kathryn, it might be 04.09 in the UK, but I'm earwigging, Lol.

ooooh Liz -- it's so hard for me to get time off, and I'm such a lousy planner ... he may just be coming to see me instead. But as he went to book flights this aft, he lost out on the deal price, and it's looking like all told it would run to $1000 for a weekend (500 or so of those pound things) ... since I can't actually put him up ...

Are Essex girls all easy?

The No. 1 efforts have been in vain. He's missing a couple of genes I think, even the few that those Y chromosomes have. Just . does . not . get . it.

Now I'll just be embarrassing the cuz-in-law more. Related to such a loose woman.

Brian was the first family I met here at GR -- years before I knew there were discussion boards -- or anywhere like. He was reluctant to claim me; mine are the tree branches, on every tree, that nobody's ever heard of. Everybody on your side of the water starts out saying Well, I really don't think ... but I'm so eager and so obviously well-bred that they soon can't resist. And I have the certificates. ;)

Well what the heck -- I'm from Essex!

My great-grandmother Annie was born in Romford in 1865. And her son, my grandfather, was born in East Ham in 1901.

And I haven't been sure whether he wants it advertised ... but ... Brian in Essex and I are cousins-in-law!

There. Now the world knows.

I'll delete it if it embarrasses you, Brian. ;)

How on earth did this get nudged up lol?
It took me several pages to realise it was an old thread, I kept thinking, I don't know all these names lol

My son's Maltese Uncle and Essex girl Aunt, three female cousins all live in Essex, Barking/Dagenham and Brentwood, and a cousin of mine lives in Hornchurch, just moved from Hainault/Chigwell area. A good friend lives in Chingford.

I always had a fondness for Essex boys on holiday in Norwich, on the Broads cruisers lol
