Just popping in to say Happy New Year to everyone. Have not been too well, had a cough/cold/sore throat and then topped it all off with a tummy bug for a couple of days. I was fine until Christmas Day, sat down to our dinner and it hit me. Just couldn't cope with any more I felt so tired all of a sudden. Then two days later the tummy bug laid me low for 48 hours. Feeling better now except waiting for news from Susan's hospital visit. It is now nearly 3 hours since her appointment (she asked my d-i-l to go with her instead of me). I'm getting very anxious now but hope to hear something soon. We are going to my younger daughter in Solihull later today for the New Year - just overnight. Looking forward to that. I will try to get back and let you all know Susie's results. Wishing you all a Happy, healthy and prosperous New Year. God bless Love Kathleen |

It was my birthday the other day and l had a gorgeous necklace from my sister - its a silver feather on silver chain. Hi Just done a Tescos run with daughter to top up the food cupboard, as we were on our own we managed to get in a visit to Hobbycraft where I spent a fair bit of money replenishing the stock I used for Christmas cards. We are having a family dinner tonight, onion bhajis etc to start then two different curries, one prawn, one veg plus all the accompaniments. Followed by pavlova and cream. We will then have a putting competition which will as usual cause much hilarity among the 7 of us. Sorry you were poorly over Christmas Kathleen, always a shame after looking forward to the festivities. I will be watching for news of Susie when you know more. Jude, not hung over just fuzzy - yeh, know the feeling. My daughter is, at this moment downloading pictures of red indians off the internet to use on a 60th birthday card for her friend. June, I have promised myself a big tidy up when the tribe go home. Watch this space. Fred, hope the NY dinner went well. Sylvia That 'cake' sounds lovely, very sweet though I suspect? Brenda looks like most of us are around at some time over the holidays doesn't it, nice to keep the thread going. Anyway, a very Happy New Year to everyone, hope 2005 brings you all, all you wish for yourselves and families. Best wishes Ann Glos |

Hi all, Let's begin by the traditional Happy New Year. It's difficult to think of happiness when there is so much misery around with the Asian disaster. This provoked me to put a new thread on the Board, but I expect it will soon disappear. Glad to see everybody has been having a good time. Johan and I spent a quiet New Year's Eve. We had expected the children today, but there'll probably turn up tomorrow. I felt utterly disgusted with the people near me letting off so many fireworks. That money could have been spent on other things, for instance help for the disaster people. My computer keeps switching me off, so will be glad when I get the new one. We've now a date - 10th January. Will close now before it shuts me off. Love, Sylvia xxx |

Hi everyone Its been a lovely sunny day but very windy, the clothes wre dried nicely. Sylvia, I'm glad you've got the date of delivery for your new computer, I hope the shop stuck to the original agreement. Di, At last you have got rid of Mr Ratty, you must be very relieved. I wouldn't be happy about the racoons either, I like animals etc to stay in their place and not invade mine. I have had a very lazy day today, I had intended to start to take some of the decorations down but I fell asleep this afternoon for a couple of hours. I must be catching up on all the sleep I have lost over the holidays. I had better sign off now because I have to be up to take Sam to work for 9 in the morning. so might everyone Love June xx |

Hi ,just a few quick lines as I am only checking emails ,before going to bed. Went to buy a new bed today,we have been looking for ages, and decided to get the pine frame one that matches the pine furniture we bought last year.It was in the sale and so we saved about 20% which isn't that bad really ,but it was still expensive. It is being delivered next Sunday so I have to have another sort out and find a home for the old bed.I am not going to the charity shops after the last perofmance ,so will call the council on Tuesday to have it taken away after the new one is delivered, thats if noone in the family want it. Hope you are ok with your old pc til the new one comes Slyvia. Di ,great to hear from you and good news about Mr R----y. June, hope you are over the festivities, and back to normal soon. See you all tomorrow, take care ,Brenda. |

Hi Brenda, our council run a scheme that when you phone for them to remove furniture they send someone round first to see if it is suitable for passing on to a charity, I have had one or two things taken away by them. The charity passes them on to people that are in need. Must dash now to get ready to take Sam to work, will see you all later. Love June xx |

Hi everyone, Are you all still recovering? Or are you all at the Sales? My doctor was telling me that one of his patients, that works at a local retail park, starts work at 4.30 and when he got to work, he couldn't get on the carpark, it was full of people waiting for Next to open. Mad or what!! Its been quite chilly here today, its a cold wind. I've taken some of my decorations down today because it takes quite a while to pack the ceramic ones away, so if I do a few each day its not so bad. Lou, I'm sorry to hear you haven't been well over the holidays, neither have I, I had acute indigestion, something I dont usually suffer from but it was waking me up, the chest pains were so bad. Anyway after various people nagging me, I went to the doctors and he gave me some pills which have cured the indigestion but now I have a bad chest and cough, he said he thought it was a muscular virus and it looks as though he was right. This morning I was supposed to take Samantha in to work for 9, her manager rang after 8 to say go in for 10, so I dropped her off just before 10 then got a phone call to pick her up at 12, it didm't seem worth going in for. At least I saw the ducks enjoying a swim and the squirrels playing around. I've also been looking on Ancestry and found out that my Greatgrandmother was a twin, I've also found another brother, just wish I could find out a bit more about their mother. Its now time I was making dinner, so I will see you tomorrow. Love June xx |

Hi all, Haven't been bale to get on for a couple of days so hope you all had a good New year. We enjoyed ours, a family meal and then a putting game for the boys, too much to eat and a fair bit to drink. The family went home today and we miss them of course, but five adult sized people extra in a house for 6 days causes a lot of caos so we are happy to get the house back. Today has ben spent washing and ironing plus I decided to tackle my 'office/workroom' drawers, sorting out all my craft and photography bits and pieces, tomorrow I have three more drawers to do plus the shelves where all the F Tree stuff is filed. It was a bigger job than I thought. Not taken the decorations down yet but will do that in slow time tomorrow and wednesday. Sorry no time to answer everyone personally but i have read all your notes. glad that Di has eliminated Mr ratty, you will feel more comfortable now Di. Hope your new PC arrives on time Sylvia. I have just ordered Family Tree maker 2005 so am looking forward to that arriving to play with. Take care everyone Ann Glos |

Hi ,just trying to summon up some energy to iron some clothes for work.I am working every day this week, granted not all day everyday ,but needs getting used to. June I will see what the council say when I phone them,I might not phone until we hace actually had the bed delivered as I would not like to be without a bed if it does not come on time. Lou,hope you are better soon,a few of my friends family have been down with a stomach bug over the holidays, must phone and see how they are doing, luckily theu did not get it all at once. Having a late tea, jacket potatoes and chilli .Then back on the diet tomorrow, mind you we have loads of chocs and icecream and cheese cakes not even opened.!!! Will have to be rationed. Going to the dentist after work tomorrow, the back of that tooth finally fell off last week,so I am hoping he will take it out tomorrow,so not sure if I will be on here or not. Take care ,Brenda |
