SKA well two tone called their ridiculous mixed up stuff that. SKA is Jamaican Rhythm and blues mixed with Jazz, the emphasis is on the 4th beat rather than European style of the 2nd beat. Its earlier than Reggae and in a fast style, which was slowed down in 1966 to become Rock Steady then it developed into Reggae. Bob Marley recorded a version of 'What's New Pussycat' in SKA believe it or not lol. very energetic stuff, and more instrumentals then vocal stuff in that style. Jamaican music history lesson over LOL.. |
