Debs remember that song well Jimmy Cliff wrote it, Desmond had a huge hit with it. It's featured in the film 'THe harder they come' one of my fave films from the 1970's many big reggae tunes in the background of that film but there is a great scene with Toots and the Maytals in the Studio singing 'Sweet & Dandy' wow, even the famous REAL musicians are there. Was that woman wearing anything else besides the headband LOL Maybe it was a close shot of her head? LOL can't you remember anything else, what was on the record? there are a lot of 1969-1973 LP's aimed at the wider audience with women on the covers, big fro's would be almost compulsory. The two biggest labels would have been Trojan and Pama but lots of the big labeks like Philips/fontana Parlophone/Emi even motown were issuing Reggae tunes, The Beatles, Cat Stevens, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Lee Dorsey, William Bell, even Chubby Checker and many more tried to do the Reggae yuck.LOL. Paul Simon was the only one that could make it because he used Jamaican Musicians in Jamaica. :-))) Give us more to go on and we may be able to work out what the record was Debs. Pat x |

No Debs that song 'wreck a buddy' was on 'Tighten Up Volume 2' it was a cover with just the middle of a woman her belly area Eric Clapton took that cover of a lovely belly and called it 'Eric Clapton was here' The only other one I can think of is 'Tighten Up Vol 3' there was a poster in that album of a woman with the songs written all over her body LOL that had a purple cover. The classic tracks 'leaving Rome' instrumental and 'Raining In my Heart' Dandy not the Buddy Holly song, completely different thing altogether There was also 'Straighten Up Vol.1. a woman sitting very carefully not to show anything with her arms up holding a glass with one of those bracelets that went into a ring (everyone wanted one in around 1970-1971) Here Debs think we are the same vintage us two LOL. I'm now in my Golden Jubilee LOL Oh dear just saying that makes me feel old. Pat x |
