It has been fascinating reading all the things that you have all done. Here are a few of mine. Given birth to my two beautiful daughters. I was at the birth of one of my grandchildren. Worked as an Au pair in the 60`s and travelled around Sweden and Denmark. Also worked as a chambermaid in a large hotel in Copenhagen during a Danish Royal Wedding when the Hotel was used for the wedding guests. Hitchhiked around Europe in the 60`s for a few years. Lived for 10 years in Germany. Passed my first GCSE at the age of 50. Worked for 20 years in the NHS. And many more. Love and Peace Marianne. xxxx |

Just remembered a few more. Passed A Level English with a grade A pass in my 30s, followed by A Level Law (although only grade E) also 3 O levels and a GCSE all in my 30s/40s (only passed two O levels at school). Short term Fostered 10 children. Visited wonderful places like the Ice fields in the Canadian Rockies, Niagara, Grand Canyon, Brice Canyon, Yosemate Yellowstone NP, New Orleans, Mesa Verde, Florence, Paris, Switzerland and many more. I suppose top of the list should be having two wonderful children who have enlarged our family by marrying lovely partners and given us five lovely grandchildren. Ann Glos |

I've stood on the banks of the frozen river Moskva outside Moscow and watched a wolf walk past a man who was fishing through a hole in the ice. I managed to do some research on the internet and found a new drug which I hoped would help my husband. He had been needing blood transfusions every two weeks and was not expected to survive a rare cancer. His doctor was enlightened enough to try the treatment and my husband hasn't needed a transfusion since. So I suppose I helped save my husband's life. I've just been randomly selected to take part in a European project. 5000 letters were sent out to people on the electoral roll and I decided to apply for the UK panel. I am going to be discussing the latest developments in Brain Science with 125 other European citizens in Brussels in 3 weeks time. All expenses paid! I've already had one meeting with the rest of the UK group in London. |
