Do you know if it was just about the fundraising threads I could sort of understand it but to be asked by GR to remove the Thanks Wakefield thread and the Westgate Common - U R FANTASTIC thread as well as the Balloon Release one it has made my blood boil!! I come on this site and watch rudeness and bitchiness happen and they get away with it yet politeness is frown apon????? I think I may have upset some people and they are making it personal now.... I think its more about me than the fundraising, which is fine but if you don't tell me I can't do anything about it to rectify the situation can I? Maybe I am the bullies new target and the only way they can get to me is thru the pink fund threads!!?? Well whoever it is.... Please know that even if I do only get to use 1 thread for my fundraising ideas in future... I can assure you I WILL NOT STOP!! PLUS the more you complain about the fundraising the more awareness you are bringing it so THANK YOU!!

These sad pathetic idiots need to get a life. Obviously live for these boards and have no friends. I am going to complain to GR with your permission Pink, if the threads wernt offensive, why should they be removed? Its ridiculous.

Phoenix Report 8 Jun 2005 17:07

How ridiculous - how on earth can these threads upset someone? They're even on the right board! I think it's awful that you are being penalised for doing something good - what is the world coming too? K x

I too are GOBSMACKED !!!!!1 How can some people be so petty as to complain about your threads. It is a pity they did,nt do it on here and see how many people would support them !!!!! not many i should think. Obviously they have not lost a loved one from Cancer or else they would not have complained. They are just selfish and sad people that is all i can say. So too who ever it was !!! GET A LIFE !!!!! before it is too late . Val

Very well said Pink, its clear you have the support of the members here on the general board. I am writing to GR to request that your threads be left alone, so many people want to be part of your efforts, to read what you put on this board. GR Should be proud to have members like you and others who have done so much rather than listen to the creeps that complain. Well its my turn to complain about these complainers. Love Pat x

Bec Report 8 Jun 2005 17:15

Pink - May I suggest you try changing your name...? Perhaps if you post a thank you thread under the name 'Bec' you may get away with it? Love becx (Still waiting to be complained about - tut!)

Jean Durant Report 8 Jun 2005 17:18

I agree with Gwynne's comments. After the last few weeks on these boards I believe that people will complain about absolutely anything to cause upset. Why or why do GR have to take any notice. I cannot believe that just one complaint can cause Pink's thank you threads to be deleted. Don't GR realise that 'majority rules'. Jean x

What offence has a General Topic given? I understand the Tips Board being kept for help and advice, but surely, unless it becomes personal, obscene or offensive, there should be no subject we are not free to discuss here. After all it is so easy to just bypass any thread which is not of interest. Good on yer Diana, Keep up the good work. Jim

I have writtent to GR. All I can ask is does a thread titled 'What's for tea tonight' (as an example!!) have more importance and relevance on the general board. Just keep posting Pink and we will keep replying. Jacky xx

Anyone who could complain about a thread for such a worthwhile cause is in my opinion: 'Lower Than A Snakes Belly' Keep up the good work girls, and ignore the low lifes. xxxxx

Hi Pink I've replied on Chunks' thread too. This is beyond belief - when you think of the genuinely offensive threads that are posted on here, and the ones that contravene GR's terms and conditions! How can anyone find thanks or fundraising offensive? Take care - and don't let it get you down. Mandy :) xx

Diana, I've only just logged on and I'm appalled at what's happened. What a miserable attitude some people have! If they can put up with some of the out & out trivial rubbish that appears on this Board on an almost daily basis (from me as well as others), they can damn well put up with people saying 'thank you', especially when it's in connection with such a noble objective. I think you deserve a gong for what you're doing. Whoever has complained about you should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves. I know I've not so far done as much as some, but I've put in many hours of work on the GB Relay and intend to do many more. Others have done far more with spectacular results. I'm disgusted to think that people can be so ungrateful and so unkind, not for myself, but for you. If they'd only seen what happened to my father, who suffered for nearly 3 years with cancer before dying an agonising death, those people couldn't have the heart to do what they've done. I've had to live with those terrible memories for the past 44 years. Cancer wrecked my childhood and plunged our family into poverty. How would they like it, if that happened to them? CB >|< (Extremely angry and very upset)

I sincerely hope that whoever has complained is never in need of cancer support. Chin up Diana and keep on going. Maybe someone else could post the threads for you in future if it is your name that is being targetted.

There are just some peeps on this site that are getting more pathetic by the day, it's about time they grew up and realised this is not some virtual playground for them to run off to the teachers and whinge about threads that others are doing that inflicts no harm on anyone!! The harm is being cause by them complaining and others having to stop posting very worthwhile threads....I hope one day they find the guts to admit who they are.....but we can all dream!! Susie xx

I can't believe someone could be so spiteful and report your threads as fundraising tactics. I have told so many people about you and Gaynor and your efforts to erradicated this terrible disease. You are a hero in my eyes Diana. THANK YOU!!!

I'm so sorry this has happened and I'm sorry GR take so much notice of these spiteful people that are seemingly stalking the board at the moment. Keep up the brilliant work you do Pinks, and try to ignore the idiots. Love Bev and Kev xx

Linen Report 8 Jun 2005 18:22

Like everyone else I'm gobsmacked. When I first joined GC I didn't use the boards at all. In January I looked into the tips board for some help. A quick look at the general & chat boards & I thought they were not for me untill the announcement of Gaynors passing. I was so moved by what I read that I have stayed with the Gen board & got involved with a charity I have not previously supported. Recently there have been times when I felt I didn't want to be here anymore but decided that I should ignore all the nasty threads but stay for the GB relay & Pink Sahara threads. Are GR saying that the best parts of the board shouldn't be here? My membership runs out in october, I'm not sure I want to continue. I don't know what else has happened today, not long been in from work & couldn't believe what I was reading. Chin up Pink, I still want to do a baloon release Vivienne
