Pmsl Susie - I'd got that far too. At least Ruby's explained it to us now. Does that make sense then?:)

*strikes David a severe blow* ................. this from a man who likes Bananarama. *sighs* Too much music is grossly overrated - anything involving a Spice girl or anyone else from a manufactured band. Hole in my Shoe by Traffic always baffled me, but I liked it. Gwynne

I agree! When it first came out that was the only single we had at the youth club and we played it over and over and over and over and over again! Debby

I think 'Hole in my Shoe' has something to do with LSD, lol! It's the first 'pop' song I remember and I asked my sister what it meant - she didn't really know either! My vote would probably go to Bryan Adams and the song from Robin Hood - not a bad song but got on my wick after a while!

5-4-3-2-1 think it was by Paul Jones and Manfred Mann---they could count backwards---WOW, thats about all it was. Gloria x

Sorry Gwynne & Elaine:) But it's bland, it means nothing and it lacks feeling lol. And it's ALWAYS in the top single things.

Unknown Report 4 Oct 2005 17:57

Yeh that's another one Sheila. Candle in the flipping Wind too. But I don't know yrs Gloria. This is probably a really stupid question Gwynne but was that song covered by Nigel Planer?

Hole In My Shoe - Traffic I looked to the sky Where an elephant's eye Was looking at me From a bubblegum tree And all that I knew The hole in my shoe Was letting in water (letting in water) I walked through a field That just wasnt real Where 100 tin soldiers Would shoot at my shoulder And all that I knew The hole in my shoe Was letting in water (letting in water) (I climbed on the back of a giant albatross Which flew through a crack in the cloud To a place where happiness reigned all year round Where music played ever so loudly) I started to fall And suddenly woke And the dew on the grass It stuck to my coat And all that I knew The hole in my shoe Was letting in water (letting in water)

I worked somewhere once where I was forced to listen to the radio station 'Capital Gold'. I must have heard 'Young Girl' by Gary Puckett and the Union Gap, about 20 times a week for over a year. The memory haunts me still :-((

Debby

David Yes Nigel Planer did cover it - might have been for Comic Relief while he was in the Young Ones. Debby
