Mercy, Mercy was first recorded by Don Covay in the early 1960s - popular dance hit in the clubs. It was a brilliant record, so was his 1974 hit It's Better to Have (and Don't Need). The Travelling Wilbury's (according to the sleeve notes on the album I've got) were Roy Orbison, George Harrison, Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne (formerly Idle Race, The Move, ELO).
