Can't indulge, have to go to work! Already we are on £5000 less than the identical house down the road - tied into 12 week sole agency , but guess they might budge on that Had my tears, life will go on, (*) < thats what they are, (SORRY!) |

So sorry Jess, This is where our system is sooooooooo wrong. Peeps should have to cough up a large deposit immediately say 5% to hold the property until exchange date. I do feel for you. Joan xx |

Just got back in Jess and read your news, so sorry. But these sort of people always find some excuse, if it hadn't been the en-suite it would have been something else. As you know if you really want a house you can move heaven and earth, the en-suite is a feeble excuse for messing people about. Big hug Gloria x |

Poor Jess I do feel for you, we were in the same position three years ago but do you know what the house we eventually bought is much nicer so keep looking and do as Jane says when you can, change agents and put the price up, we did and got far more viewers than before Good hunting Norah |

Jess, Putting the price UP was what I meant - not down! It's a strange thing, but people have an odd way of looking at 'value' - sometimes if an item is priced higher or top level, they'll be attracted to it. By 'indulge' ... I meant eat chocolate! On second thoughts, don't ... the caffeine will only hype up your stress levels. Promise yourself something nice for this evening .... then launch into action tomorrow. Stuff the contract, tell 'em they're not performing ... well, something like that - I'm sure you're an assertive person, so go right on 'assert' yourself. You don't have to fire them, just 'motivate' them rather more keenly to select a punter who is prepared to do the deal - rather than mess you around. Just let me at 'em ... I'm angry with them now! We seriously need to change the law on property sales/purchases - the Scottish way has some merits! Jane |

I am so sorry Jess, there is nothing I or anyone else can say to make you feel better at this time. All I will say is that over the years things have happened to me that seemed like the end of the world at the time but have turned out for the best in the end. My very best wishes to you Vivienne |

Have just had another call from the agent, On the upside ;-) - he is going to talk to 'the boss' about us going Multi - agency (without waiting the 12 weeks) On the downside... ;-( The one we want to buy is going to be reduced in price as they need to secure a quick sale.... they are going to knock £25k off their asking price - thats £10k LESS than we'd offerded........ Anyone got a large ammount of dosh to lend me for a while....? Cant change ANYTHING - just feel so bl**dy helpless. Does help to talk about it though, THANK YOU my friends Jess x |

Jess if they are reducing that much is there no way of getting a bridging loan? If I win the lottery on Saturday will put you first in queue. Won't they just do a swap with you. Keep smiling something good will happen. dawnie |

Jess, If the house you want is THE ONE, then maybe a bit of lateral thinking is needed. What about renting out your house and buying the other. It makes an very good pension fund. Or maybe a bridging loan until you sell yours. I know how dissappointed you are, but there maybe another way? All the best, Rob |
