You don't have to be mad to be on this thread, but it sure helps. Thanks everyone for keeping me amused. Loved the carnation milk story. And I want to know where to buy the washing powder. Pam |

Good evening Wattlers . . . Lots of talk of insanity, I personally think it is of the contagious variety . . . Just back from a walk down Bay Street to soak up a bit of the atmosphere! Early this evening they blocked off the street and they have 3 hugh screens set up - the place is packed - families have come out in their droves with their chairs and their rugs - the old street is full of atmosphere, its amazing. Just like during the Olympics in Greece and the last World Cup !! Brighton-Le-Sands being the the centre of the Greek population in Sydney, they are all out towatch the game of soccer . . . Greek & Aussie flags flying everywhere, faces painted, either way they say they are a winner! Off to bed, a bit cool outdoors, need the PJ's and the blankeys. Night all . . . Hey Jules, thanks for the poem, cheers luv Laurie |

Evening Waffling Wattlers.......4 pages.....my gosh you lot can talk! This is what happens when I go out for the day. Graeme had a day off today so I decided to give him a break from the garden and we spent the day out. Had a yummy lunch at Robina, shopped for some bling at a Michael Hill sale, then went to see The DaVinci Code. I enjoyed it. It missed a few things from the book but if it had everything it would have stretched for 5 hours. I quite liked Tom Hanks as the lead. Graeme thought Harrison Ford might have been better but I think Hanks made a good professor. You didn't expect him to perform any heroics like you would have with Ford. All round a reasonable version of the book and good entertainment. (And I say YOU lot waffle pmsl....look at me!) Hi Cat....liked the poem....a bit of culcha is good now & then. Lew Lew....What's your niece doing when she returns from the Chelsea show? This Friday Ch 7....Better Homes & gardens is from the show. Might we see your niece on there? Vonny...have a relaxing weekend. Did John ever get his green antique marine motor back? If he can't restore some of the things you could always turn them into garden art and sell them for a fortune. Some people will buy anything pmsl. Laurie...give Joodles a big hug from me when you see or talk to her. She is probably getting better because of all the positive thoughts we are having. I'm heading off to bed now. Still have a bit of my book left to read. ~~~~~waves to all you mad, funny, wonderful cyber-friends. love Trifley PS....I guess I'm not the only one who fancies black pmsl X |

Morning All, the mist is slowly lifting from the valley floor and it looks to be another fantastic day in our little town. Good result with the soccer last night, although I thought the score should have been a bit higher. Queen T, niece has to go back to Uni when she returns from Chelsea, but what an opportunity and she has met so many contacts, Jamie Durie, Brendan Mohr, etc. They have all been impressed with her designs, which is pretty good for a first year student. Anyway, the landscapers have just arrived, so I'm off to get ready for work (35!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). ~~~waves to all~~~ Lew Lew xxx |

Good morning Wattlers Lew Lew and I seem to be the only ones up and about this morning - cold mornings all around I guess. Lew - 35!!!! It's coming fast. What is the first thing you are going to do when the time arrives? Hope the tradesmen are out of your hair soon. Should be exciting with furniture etc arriving. Will we have the piccies soon????? Yooooohooooooo - Joodles!! Can you hear me through cyberspace? Sending get well wishes and hugs your way. Hope you are out of hospital soon - but remember, madam, to stop and smell the roses when you get home - or hopefully when you go to Lauries. Our bush walking group participated in the Biggest Morning Tea to raise money for Cancer yesterday so we walked, then had morning tea at the Rose Garden in one of our local parks. Beautiful day weatherwise and a very enjoyable social occasion - and we raised money for Cancer as well. Trifley - shopping for bling fit for the Queen of the Nile - you will out-bling us all! I love the pie shop at Robina - they have great pies and mushy peas. From bling to pies - from the sublime to the ridiculous! Glad to hear you enjoyed The Da Vinci Code. I can well imagine they would have had to leave things out of the film but I'm keen to see it. Same with Memoirs of a Geisha - lots of stuff they had to leave out of the film which doesn't give you the insight into the characters which you get from the book. I've never seen the film Angela's Ashes as I didn't want to have the book spoilt for me. There's no way they could have captured that book on film. H......k today. Can't put it off any longer so I'd better get to and do it. I keep looking in the washing machine but no joy yet! Hello to all Wattlers - have a good day. Catch you all later XX Anna |

Morning All Hope everyone is well. We are having a bit of a down day today, Ex M.I.L had a suspect melonoma (Spelling) growth removed a bit over a week ago, and after tests and scans revealed it was cancerous, but they didnt get it all, so she was admitted to hospital on Wednesday for an op to remove the rest. We had a visit from my ex last night to give us an update. Well in a bit over a week the growth that remained had more than doubled and it has gone to her lymp Glands, there is slight Paralysis down the side of her face and shoulder, prospects dont look good. Any positive thoughts and prayers would be greatly accepted. I am going in today to see her and find out if anything more positive has been discovered. Cheers Sue |
