Is there no way you can stop this fool from adding hundreds of death entries from Australia every few days... he is making a mockery of family tree searches... they do not even belong to his family... I have sent a message to GR team privately and am sure that if we all inundate them with messages they will eventually stop this ridiculousthing from happening... there are sights I am sure where death entries can be added, so why put them on HIS tree and clog up OUR site with them???? Anne ( now getting really P***ed off) |

Yes Anne he is a pain in the neck. Especially when you see you have a match on one of your more unusual names only to find it is him!!! Germaine x |

Joan... go into your TREE MATCHES... and you will probably see lots of death entries against every or almost every name you have on your list... there is a fella adding loads of death entries to his tree that are not even belonging to him... says he is doing us a favour... pain in the A*** more like!! Anne :) |

Mind if I sign your petition Anne ?? I too am not amused! Surely this is not the right place . . . also, one of our own got a bit of a shock to find her brothers death listed on someone elses tree on GR - then to find out it was not really a tree - a bit sick! luv Laurie |

I have had a look Anne. All I have got are the people who are related to me, already in my contacts & then the odd few with 1 or 2 names in their trees that don't match mine anyway !! Does that mean he hasn't got my rellies in his mitts yet ?? :0) Joan xxxx |

No, he says he is creating a database of gravestone inscriptions from Australia (I think it is Western Australia?) and if you find a match against one of your names you can ask him for the full inscription and possibly even a photo. Could be useful, but the GR tree system is not really the place for it, is it? For a start, he can only supply information to paid-up members of GR this way, but if he sets up his own website it would be open to all. For another thing, as has been said before, GR is supposed to be for contacting relatives, not for something like this. Kate. |

Yes...Please stop the death entries being added!!! It's very annoying and of no help whatsoever. I have lots of surnames and he/she has posted on every one of these. For 3 weeks this has been bugging me and this person has no connection at all to the names he/she posts...it shouldn't be allowed. I have been trying to contact GR without success and I'm glad other people have started to notice this person now, hopefully GR will do something. |

Maybe the GR team would let him know that it is very easy to set up your own website for this kind of thing.as Kate said.... so if you are reading this CHRIS please take note!! Anne :))) |

I posted this reply on another thread earlier for those who are interested in the person who posts the Australian Indexes. (I noticed he has 113070 people in his tree!!) This is the reply I had from someone when I wrote to them (11.1.06)asking why they had so many of my names listed. I wrote again this week when more appeared and asked if any of the people they list, are actually related to them. I haven't heard back. But why put so many on your tree if nothing to do with you?? Jacky :-) 'Thank you for you interest in the names I have on Gens. I have listed a DEATH index for West Australia. Being a death index it does not show. 1)Parents 2)Who they married 3)Where they were born 4)If the Surname is their Married or Maiden Name 5)Children During the next months I will be visiting the Cemeteries in Perth taking photos. If the person listed is part of your family I can try and take a photo for you. Please keeping mind that not all people have graves and not all graves have head stones and some grave sites have been redeveloped. While searching for my Extended Family lots of people have help me from all over the world with it. One person has sent a photos of my sons 5th great grand-parents grave. This is one way of me returning the help. One person as send 30 years trying to find a family member and they were surprised to find them buried in West Australia I have a list of 200 names requiring checking to see if they have head stones so far. I hope this explains why your family member is listed. If you require further info please email me again' |

I know what you mean, I have some lines that are hard to progress on, and when I check the name match, I get excited, just to find it is him again, I wish GR would do something about it. Bev |

Christine and Jackie J... If you rememeber we have had this thing before where people have put ancestors on their 'tree' and for us to contact them, only to find that they are adding just names... I was actually sent to a website... The woman concerned promptly took her tree off GR and changed the password to the site... which to me made me smell a rat!! This *Chris' looks like he is doing the same thing... and trying to get hold of access to trees...Why??? Do you smell a rat? Cos I do!! Anne :))) |

YUPPP this Chris has added lots of my family names too. My grans bro went to W Australia in the early 1900.s I,m in touch with the family so know he died in the early thirties. There is one listed in my matches with the same name but died in the 1890,s. If I hadnt known any better i might have been fooled into contacting him & MAYBE opening my tree. This guy need stopping.
