Slinky Report 6 Apr 2006 13:10

It does get busy, but there is always somewhere to stay... There are loads of B&B's and pubs around the centre do accomodation... and near where I live there is a travel lodge, they charge per room and not per person... only ten minute walk to centre from there. Anne:)))

I know it is Carol, bet you can't wait chuck... Will have to find somewhere other than the place I did find and a second choice for lunch, cos one has closed down and the other is closing down... But , no problem, me and my mate will go on a few jaunts to find the right place for us..lol... Anne:)))

Carol in Rochester, New York Report 9 Apr 2006 13:10

I wonder who that mate might be???? lol. Is there a Weatherspoons in Chester Anne? Anywhere other than McDonalds will be fine with me. lol

Slinky

Slinky Report 9 Apr 2006 13:26

Ok... MacDonalds is a no-no then..lol... Witherspoons in Chester is always full of heavy drinkers most days of the week so I won't even think about that... We will find somewhere... Maybe the Boat House by the river would accomodate us... Joyce and I will check it out within the next couple of weeks and let you all know... Or we may even check a few more too...lol... Anne:)))

Bren from Oldham Report 9 Apr 2006 14:11

Hi Anne Been checking Chester tourist board site for somewhere to stay There is a a list and descriptions of pubs on there perhaps you and Joyce could have a look at that and decide which ones to go and sample Bit easier than tramping about at your age LOL Found one that would suit us , offer is only on certain evenings though buy 2 glasses of wine and you get the rest of bottle on the house I know you like your wine, like I do Regards Bren

Hi Brenda... yes, that's what we will do, check out which places to have a look at and then go and try it out first. We have plenty of time so more than one visit is ok by us...lol... Anne:)))

Doesn't the Cathedral have a large room with cafe?

Slinky

Slinky Report 12 Apr 2006 08:48

Valice... yes it does but it is rather expensive, and we need somewhere to sit together... they do not allow tables to be joined. Also if we need to have the tables for a long time, they tend to keep clearing them to get you out... I don't like it... too holy joe for me!!! And the drink they sell is not cheap, and they don't have spirits etc... no good for our lot...lol... Anne:)))
