Hi Caz I had 16 weeks of patches and just finished them last week. I knew by then I didn't need them as a couple of days I forgot to put one on and didn't notice! Didn't notice any difference when dropped from large to medium to small either. Still get the odd pang but they're few and far between now. Well done everyone else on this thread! Debby |

Caz - Im into week 6 so I have just been and bought the 14 mg patches to start using, be it 21 or 14 im not going to have a cig anyway so thought i might as well drop now. I dont get any cravings for them I think its my temper that gets me more than anything and I mean that in the way of snapping.. Joanne - The glove compartment is good isnt it? Its a treat to see how many days and things you have saved. Your not the only one who snaps (see above) but at least you dont smell!!! Debs - Well done, 16 weeks on these patches? I am sick to death of the black marks already and now that the sun is out im running out of places to hide them (am wearing the clear ones too). James - I dont miss the dreams at all, but I did have trouble getting to sleep last night, at 2am I had to take a couple of tynol pm to help... KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK... Debs xxxxx |

Debs The black marks were a pest but I was given 8 weeks of large, 4 weeks of medium and 4 weeks of small so I just did as I was told at the clinic! Debby |

Debs, Oh right they arent the same as what we buy at the grocery store, I am using nicoderm cq and have just completed 5 weeks on 21mg and today on 14 mg (thats for 2 weeks) then down to 7 mg for 2 weeks but the patches are all the same size though clear, but trying to get the black marks off makes my skin sore.. Hi all Well I have made to to my fifth day without the weed!! How proud am I ?? Very!! Still feel worse in the mornings, come dinner I start to feel ok and now feel as though I have never smoked, that is until tomorrow morning. Got home from work tonight and did the housework - top to bottom and was amazed that I didn't get out of breath! Here is my glove compartment that Deb's told me about - I have saved roughly £25.00 on cig's in five days - so I decided that instead of waiting till I had reached 7 days to treat myself I went out today and bought a new top, just to congratulate myself!! Hi All, Well I have moved onto the 14mg patches and to be honest it doesnt feel any different to the 21mg.. I should have stayed another week on the 21 but I just want to get off them a touch quicker with the swimming pools opening soon!! (I wasnt a 20 a day person anyway). Joanne - You are doing fantastic, I am so proud of you, go back and read your first posting on here and you will see what I mean. Well done Carol and everyone else who is quitting the weed or should I say quit the weed??? Debs x |

Hi everyone, Now completed 6 full days without a cig and I feel great, had my best day yet and I can honestly say I have had about three cravings all day and they passed within about 30 seconds. I feel alive and free and as though I could take on the world - does that make sense? I haven't felt this good since !! well I don't know cus I've smoked since I was 15 so it's a long time 21/22 years and I can't help but think what have I been doing for all those years it certainly didn't make me feel half as good about myself as I do now!!!! and that is after only 6 days - watch out everyone if I make it to 6 months and then a year. How is everyone else doing? Deb's how are the 14mg patches going? Joanne |

Hi Joanne, Carol and Malainie Glad things are working out alright for you, congratulations to Melainie on the 6 months mark and Carol still going well, don't want to put a damper on you, Joanne be careful and keep you guard up, watch out if you go drinking and your resistance is lowered through alcohol, but you may be one, who once started sails through just needing the push to get started James |

Good Morning everyone, Day 39 Joanne - You are a star, your doing so well and it does get easier doesnt it? I feel no different on the 14 mg than I did on the 21 mg but from what I hear the big drop is to 7 mg but hey its got to happen sometime. And I really cant wait to stop putting them on, I dont know about you but I forget where I did put the last one! Carol - Wow you have done fantastic then, I didnt realise that you had smoked that long. Melanie - 6 months, congratulations. Last night OH and I went out with some friends and after they headed back to their hotel we decided to nip in a bar and have one for the road (waiting for a taxi) and when we walked in it stunk.. luckily they had a no smoking area which smelt completely different otherwise I would have walked back out!! And I was the one who used to love a cig and a beer! Debs x By the way I took this quote of the day from the website I use stopsmoking and thought how good it was. Not many people are willing to give failure a second opportunity. They fail once and it's all over. The bitter pill of failure is often more than most people can handle. If you're willing to accept failure and learn from it, if you're willing to consider failure as a blessing in disguise and bounce back, you've got the potential of harnessing one of the most powerful success forces. - Joseph Sugarman |
