Then said Jesus unto His disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of man shall come in the glory of His Father with His angels: and then He shall reward every man according to his works. Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here , which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in His kingdom. Matthew 16 v 24-28. Gwyn |

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the whole armour of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we are not contending with flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take the whole armour of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Ephesians 6 verses 10-13 |

Judging Others. Do not judge others, and God will not judge you; Do not condemn others and God will not condemn you: Forgive others and God will forgive you. Give to others and God will give to you, indeed you will receive a full measure, a generous helping, poured into your hands------- all that you can hold. The measure you use for others is the one that God will use for you. Luke 6 v 37-38. Gwyn |

Philip said to Him, 'Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.' Jesus said to him, 'Have I been with you so long and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say 'Show us the Father.'? Do you not know that I am in the Father and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father in Me does the works. Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves. John 14, v 8 - 11 New King James version. |

The Parable of the Lost Son. There was a man who had two sons, and the younger of them said to his father. 'Father, give me my share of the property now.' A few days later the younger son gathered all that he had and took a journey into a far country. He wasted all his money on parties and prostitutes. Just when his money was gone, a great famine swept over the land, and he began to starve. He persuaded a local farmer to hire him to feed the pigs and he was so hungry that even the pig food looked good, but no one gave him anything to eat. He finally came to his senses and said to himself: 'At home, and even the hired men have enough food. And here I am dying of hunger! I will go home to my father and say: Father, I have sinned against both heaven, and you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Please take me on as a hired servant.' So he returned home to his father. But while he was still a long way away, his father saw him coming, and was filled with pity and ran and embraced him and welcomed him. And his son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against you and I am not worthy of being called your son.' But his father said to the servants, 'Quick! bring the finest robes in the house to put on him and put rings on his fingers and shoes and kill the calf. We must celebrate with a feast for this son of mine was dead, and has returned to life. He was lost, and is now found. Luke 11 - 32 |
